    Mga experts, here's the deal:

My sister's car (Lancer, itlog - EL) was kept in the garage for nearly a month. Yesterday, I went to their house to start the car (gagamitin ko sana today). Nag-start naman sya agad (one click nga lang eh) kaso after a few seconds (3-5), namatay. So, I checked the battery (oks naman) then the gas in the tank (more than half). Then I started the car ulit. Same result. After a few seconds namatay.

Pinasalubungan ko ng kaunting gas yung carb. Start ulit. Ganun din, after a few seconds namatay (3-5 seconds pa din). Start ulit. This time, I gently stepped on the gas pagka-start. Unfortunately, ganun pa din. Kahit i-rebolusyon ko yung makina or I put pressure on the gas pedal, after a few seconds eh namamatay. The engine revs up and just goes dead.

I'm no expert sa tsikot so I'm asking for your advice. What could be the possible cause (or causes) of this problem? Sa limited knowledge ko sa engines, I only have three guesses:

    (a) Yung fuel pump (kaso parang hindi kasi I removed the fuel filter, emptied it's contents, then placed it back. Pagtapos mamatay nung engine, I checked it eh may laman.

    (b) Yung carb - baka kailngan ng palinis or i-calibrate.

    (c) Nahaluan ng tubig yung gas tank (I was thinking na baka last time sila nagpa-gas, nahaluan ng water yung gasoline).

What'd ya think mga fafa at mamah?

    TIA!!!!!

Alternator doesn't seem to hold up... but that's just a guess, since you already singled out fuel, and battery... have you also checked the oil and water levels?

Torque: yep, checked the engine oil. Full pa ang level sa gauge. Di pa maitim (mapula-pula pa).

Bravo: Yep, I did. Oil is okay, so is the water in the radiator and the reservoir.

nic... baka madumi lang ang carb mo.

yung 323 ganyan din ang problem a few weeks ago. ginamitan ko ng carb cleaner yung intake manifold (EFI) and ok na sya.

if you want bro, may tira pa akong carb cleaner dito sa bahay... pwede natin yan tirahin over the Christmas break.

I doubt if its the battery or the oil, kasi nagreredondo pa naman, and I would assume na hindi umiilaw yung Oil Indicator or Battery Lamp.

    My suspect is contaminated fuel.

M2: thanks for the offer bro. May carb cleaner din ako din sa house. Tirahin ko mamyang gabi nga. Thanks.

FD: Pwede nga rin contact point. Pag-napaandar ko through carb cleaning, sabihin ko kay utol na pa-check. Napapanis pala fuel?

Galactus: Oil indicator and battery lamp, walang ilaw. Sige, pag tinira ko ng carb cleaner mamya, tangalin ko laman ng filter tas amuyin ko.

    Thanks for the advice guys!
