alam ko na ang modus operandi ni Rapide!! hehehe..
after they do their "premium service" tune-up, they find a host of problems with your vehicle, tapos that's where they make their money.
anyway, as expected on a 100T km car, they found 29K worth of repairs to be done on my 626 (that's excluding the leaking power-steering pump, since they don't do steering pump repairs).
to wit..
shock absorbers - 14400
tie rod end (2) - 1200
rack end (2) - 2000
wheel alignment - 1200 (required by the two above)
oil seals - 660
balancer belt - 1300
balancer bearing - 1400
tensioner bearing - 2150
timing belt (OEM) - 1700
labor - 1500
actually the pricing of the timing belt etc. is not so bad, since 1800 ang lowest price ng OEM timing belt na nakita ko. the 2 bearings aren't OEM, but somewhere on this forum someone said the 2 bearings are 3000 kung SKF, so their price ain't too bad. also, i was expecting that the timing belt and ang mga alagad niya all have to be changed, so the latter recommendations were not a surprise.
however.. napapa-isip tuloy ako as to ano ang i-prioritize ko. definitely hindi ko muna palitan shocks, wala sa budget. besides, mukhang OK pa naman yung ride. pero yung steering components (exclusing the PS pump) -- hindi ba dapat unahin ko yun kahit dun sa timing belt & co? nakakatakot na loose yung steering lalo na mag mabilis magpatakbo..
also, ok na ba yung prices na quote nila?
