    Hi Guys,

I recently bought a second hand car (96 Galant) and I'm a new driver (barely a month) and I dont have indepth knowledge when it come to cars.. So here it goes, basically i have 2 questions:

    1. I have a problem with my speedometer, the dial isnt moving. Can somebody please give me an estimate of how much will I be spending to have it fixed or can somebody give me instructions in checking what is causing the problem? I read it in some of the threads here that the culprit might be the cable?

    and

    2. What's the average price of Change Oil?

    me,
    Chris

Change oil depends on the oil you use.

Basic oil is around Php430/4 liters (check how many liters your engine needs, its in the manual). Replacement oil filter is around Php150.00 (the price goes up depending on the size of oil filter your vehicle has or if you use original oil filter$$$).

Shell has oil change packages. Typically Php1,500.00 or around that figure.

If you haven't changed the fuel filter and air filter, now would be a good time to do so, too. Air filter is just a do it yourself affair. Open airbox, remove old filter, insert new one. Otherwise, service stations put a labor charge of Php50.00 on this service alone.

Naku sorry po, electronic yung speedo ko. Mahal yung sensor Php2,500++. Expect the cable to be much cheaper. PM mo si GlennSter. May stock sila ng mga speedo cables sa tindahan. Baka may magkasya. Pwede mo na din ipatingin dun kung Q.C. area ka. Btw, they also do oil changes.

Kung ok pa ang cable, VSS na yan. Pero most probably, nahugot lang yung cable. Your friendly mechanic sa suking talyer can do that in a cinch
