September 8th, 2009 11:14 AM #1hi,
mag tatanong lang po... kasi pumapalya ang makina na kotse namen, nung i-diagnose na (somewhere in banaue, inajust ang ung distributor para mahanap ang tamang timing. then they told me to kailangan palitan ung coil sa loob (ignition coil ba?)... unfortunately, walang available na coil during that time at wala rin distributor na available (too bad )...
Car Model: Mazda 323 Familia 1999
please provide any recommendations...
thanks for your help

Marami kasing dahilan ng pagpalya ng makina bro. When was the last time you had it tuned. Pwedeng yung ignition coil. Or pwede rin namang yung mga spark plugs, hi-tension wires, etc...
Ibalik mo na lang uli sa repair shop. Have them change the parts one at a time para mahuli yung sira at hindi masayang ang pera mo.
Goodluck!

September 8th, 2009 12:12 PM #3thanks for the tip. last tuned up was last April, kaka change oil lang din... so hindi pa muna pinalitan ung spark plug kasi ilang months p lang...
kaka change lang din ng alternator kasi sira na... pero prior to this, pumapalya na talaga ung makina, pero naisip kaka tune up lang ung April. so nung an check sa banaue, ung ditributor daw ung problema...
thanks...

eric,
three major groups of causes for misfires:
1. mechanical condition-
a. poor compression
b. intake manifold leak
c. carbon build up in the combustion chambers
2. fuel problems:
a. bad fuel
b. poor fuel vaporization
c. too rich or too lean air/fuel mixtures
3. ignition problems:
a. marginal secondary (high voltage) side of the
ignition ( bad distributor cap, bad rotor, bad
spark plug wires, bad spark plugs; any one or
more of these will cause engine shivers
b. voltage at terminal 15 (positive side of the
ignition coil) is too low
c. marginal distributor trigger (your car uses
magnetic picku coil.
to rule out the secondary(high voltage side of the ignition), turn your radio on AM (amplitude modulation) band and run the engine. if the secondary side has high voltage leak, you can hear it from the speakers as rfi (radio frequency interference). go through different frequencies on your AM band. the intensity and frequency of the noise will be proportional to the engine speed.
