Hi Jonhart, I tried to pump the filter from the top several times but i can't get to the point that it will harden. I don't see any changes on my engine behavior after that too. Yep, I just hope it has nothing to do with injection pump.
The_possessed, I cant help you too. Maybe some other tsikotters might.

kabit mo muna ang filter huwag mo masyadong higpitan

then pump, punuin ng krudo ang fuel filter , tapos sisiriit yun krudo sa filter. hold down to lock the injection pump then tighten to close the filter.

fitting sa ibabaw ng fuel filter pasiritin din para lumabas ang hangin

    Johnart,

Congrats on figuring out your car's problem.

I just found this thread tonight and I had been suspecting a problem with the fuel pump/distributor, even before Paj4x4's post affirmed my suspicion. Sure enough, it was in the fuel pump/distributor per your confirmation.

This has been an educational thread for me. Thanks for sharing your troubleshooting experience.

    Happy motoring everyone.

Did you try putting the key on the heater position then pumping the fuel filter ? BTW when I pump it takes around 10 or more times. But then your pajero has no problems. It might could be that your filter which you said was 9 months old and may need replacement Or other things oil, air filter, or timing ?

Sadly nanduon nga yung problem might cost me 15k or more to repair. I was hoping it was a different component in the engine because there are a lot of remedies. Since its the fuel injectors no choice but to have the whole thing fixed.

For my pajero since may problem I dont have the time to open each injector to release the air(bleeding). Ang pandaya is put the key at heater then pump so that the injectors are open. So when you pump air maybe pumped not but completely and fuel may be pumped in : )

Hi Johnart, Ok na rin ride ko. I replaced the fuel filter and bleed thru injectors. Ride is smoother and responsive.

congrats sir ayos na ride ninyo Parang it would be a nice idea to buy car parts (filters) now amd keep them for future use para cheaper.

Updated ko lang I had my injector checked and they found that my nozzles were clogged. It will be replaced. However as they were checking it they found my engine to be blow by already. Oh well brought it to a mechanic and had the whole engine opened. And they found my valves and all four pistons are worn out, forgot the term but in short my engine is now on its way for a general overhaul. yuck yuck yuck. Estimate cost in the range of 60k to 70k

Hi Johnart, I assume that the car was brought to Central Diesel Calibration as suggested before. So the calibration shop diagnosed blow-by engine and clogged nozzle. How do the calibration shop (blowby) figure that out, do they perform compression testing? Which mechanic did you brought your ride? By the way, goodluck and hope the agony end soon.

Brought it to a shop in makati, kay doc diesel forgot the name. Simple test open oil cap and a lot of oil started to explode out. Sufficient na yun so no need of compression test. After which I brought it to my cousin who has a repair shop near grace village. He is the one doing the general overhaul. Saw the engine block and yup inside the piston the chamber is really worn out. I hope this will end my agony. Laki sobra ng gastos.

johnart sorry to here about your ride. I thought 4m40 engines are supposed to be very durable. 53,000 kms palang masyadong maaga. can you share your theories which led to an early overhaul? maintenance? off roading?

    Promdiboy ,
I have no idea never had this car go offroad. Maintenance, every 5,000km change oil mobil one fully synthetic, But since my dad used the car for the majority of the time I used it for only less than 10,000 km since last year and I have not the slightest idea what caused it.

Johnart, try to source your injector nozzles from 3rd parties, mas mura kesa eldo or casa. You could save as much as 50% on Zexel injectors (same din sa stock except stock has the Mitsu branding).

Hmmmm.... Balitaan mo kami on the overhaul. I'm sure it will benefit the 4M40 crowd. Im not sure how they will go about this kasi walang cylinder liner ang 4M40.

You can always hold off the overhaul if you wanted to. I spent four years driving a blow-by 4d56 in the old boxy Pajero with no problems.

Itong saking mukang blown na din pero pumapasa naman ng emissions [barely] and sufficient naman ang performance.
