Location: Baguio
This is what happened:
Yesterday, had my radiator overhauled. So pull down radiator, then overhauling went ok naman for around 2 to 3 hrs then re-install radiator, filled it with a 50/50 coolant/water mixture, and turned on engine. So ok na daw at around 2pm. Weather was quite hot that time. I went on and drove for around 10 kms. Pag dating sa bahay, when I was going to park na on a quite rolling road, shifted to R, pero parang hindi nag engage yung AT, so car rolled forward. So I had to step on the accelerator hard para mag reverse. So next thing I did was to shift to D4, and same results where I need to step hard on the accelerator for the car to move. Tried also D3, 2 & 1 pero same din. So parked for mga 5 mins and decided to go to my mechanic. Then I drove off again and medyo hirap nga umandar. After driving halfway or around 5 kms, I had to make a full stop. After the full stop, ayaw na umandar. Shifted to D3, 2 then 1... no luck. Shifted to R, ganun pa rin, ayaw gumalaw. Checked temp guage, nasa half naman (which is normal temp reading). Also checked water/coolant pero ok naman level on the reservoir. So I called up my mechanic for help. Waited for around 1 hr. Pag dating ng mechanic, checked the ATF, hindi naman amoy sunog. Checked the ATF level and normal naman daw. So medyo lumamig na engine by that time, we test drove & ok nanaman. We drove for more or less 15 kms, and no problems. So what we did was brought the car to the shop and I decided to have the ATF changed.(Used Mobil ATF). If checked from the dipstick, ATF is somewhat reddish, pero pag drain, very dark ang color. So far since the ATF change yesterday, the car was running ok.
I am wondering if this had something to do with the radiator overhaul? Is it possible that the ATF overheated? or is the tranny busted?-- I hope not.
Need your inputs/opinions. Thanks in advance.
