Can anybody suggest any device to prevent side mirror theft as well as where to get/how much these are? I live near Banawe and the side mirrors of my Revo were stolen once when I had to park on the street. I had to pay P2,000 to a crook on a scooter in Banawe to get them replaced! It may have been my own side mirrors that I paid ransom for.

Other than a gun to blow the brains out of these side mirror thieves, what can you suggest? Thanks in advance.

Paste it with Mighty Bond or any super glue :D ....OK na OK ...basag na yung salamin bago nila makuha.

    Yun lang po.

    Buddytan,

    isang inexpensive way.

i have read in one forum that what some people do to discourage thieves from stealing their side mirrors is they have their license plate numbers engraved on it

how about placing a clear lexan/plexiglass over the housing of the side mirror? secured by silicone lang, madali naman tanggalin in the future without damaging the mirror assembly... just a thought.

HITMAN*47's suggestion of using super glue sounds good. I think I'll try to do that this weekend. Thanks! Of course, if somebody gives a better suggestion before then, I would still reconsider.

I have these phoe numbers about those etched glass for the windows and mirrors. Nakuha ko dati yung number dun sa old board pero I haven't tried calling them up pa eh.

    Try nyo na lang:
    723-3575
    723-35-96

The process is called macro-etching... My brother had his car done at Camp Crame years and years ago... I dunno if they still do it though.

But from my guess, any glass works shop (that do glass etching) might be able to do it.

Do not patronize the guy in Banawe. May market kasi kaya may nag susupply. Once had my emblem ng Corolla stolen. Bought a brand new one sa dealer ng Toyota.

Yes sad to say it happens around here alot. Mine was stolen a few years ago. I don't know how he ran off with two pajero side mirrors without being noticed. Ang laki laki nun. Whered he hide em?
They even steal emblems. My H emblem was stolen last year. And my friend's car had "civi" at the back someone tried to steal it ung letter "c" lang nakuha hahaha

Hmm tons of mighty bond will do I guess. Thatd take time to rip out.

i own a starex.. i never had anything stolen from my van, thank God.. but i think this is due to the fact that original replacement parts are so affordable so there really is no market for stolen starex parts.... i guess parts for toyota as everyone knows is quite expensive.. this is probably the reason why there is a market for stolen parts... is this the real reason? just my thought.....
