anybody got an experience about this matter? i happened to notice when i changed the front brake pads of my pajero na punit na yung cv boots na malapit sa engine, both the left and right side. i know na this is bad as this might damage the cv joints due to the ingress of dirt and water.
sa nakaexperience na nito, is it prudent to just change the cv boots or totally replace the cv joints? any idea how much it costs ( the cv boots alone or the cv joints altogether), including labor? thanks very much!

cv boots lang po pinapalitan dyan. it will involve pulling out the cv joints. so additional sa parts and labor cost will be the cost of checking the alignment and camber of the front wheels after the job is done. di ko alam prices ng paj, sorry can't give you an idea on that.

Noong nagpalit ako outer boot ko pati inner pinalitan ko na rin. Madugo kasi ang pag tanggal. We reused the old OE clips since mas maganda talaga yung OE.

Also noong bumili ako ng 4 cv boots pareho ang labas pero ang loob medyo iba. The old one is grooved so I had to go back and replace it. Siguro ang best is to buy just before you will replace it. Rip it out and give the auto supply the sample then go straight to the shop.

thanks for the input guys. Yung inner boots lang ang napunit malapit sa axle. if i assume correctly, dapat puno ng grease sa loob ng boots. pero sa tingin ko parang kokonti na lang yata ang natira so assuming the worst, baka mapalitan lahat in case nasira na nga cv joints. ngiii, wag naman sana
may mga symptoms ba para malaman kung sira na talaga mga cv joints short of disassembling it?

meron test dyan, turn at low speed with the steering wheel almost at lock position (todo liko sa steering wheel). both sides ha, turn to the left and the right. pag may narinig ka na "tok-tok-tok..." in either turn sira na ang cv joints. usually madidinig mo naman kung saan cv joint galing yung sound (left side or right side), yun ang sira or at least worn out na at malapit na masira.

Since sira na ang cv boot, have it serviced asap. Makikita naman ang cv joints kapa nagpalit ka ng cv boot.

i inquired at el dorado megamall, and the price was php 2500+. since apat ang kailangan, medyo malaki-laki din yun. yung replacement 250 lang. ano opinyon nyo between OEM and replacement with regards to this particular item? kung sa city lang halos ginagamit ang sasakyan mo, ok na ba ang replacement lang owing to the disparity of the price? thanks.
