Sa L300 ko 3 years ago bigla nalang parang may nasagasaan na lata yung tunog sabay hinto, tapos kabobohan pa sinubukan ko i start heheeh. Tinow papunta saking suking mekaniko.

Kung baluktot yung tensioner bearing malamang madudulas yung belt nun, which will lead to similar effects. Do you know when the tensioner spring and belts were last replaced prior to owning the car?

Save yourself the trouble of having another repair by having it all done habang ginagawa na yung belt. May be more expensive but will be for peace of mind in the long run.

May 16th, 2007 03:06 PM #20I once had an old Cortina (Ford) na naputulan ng timing belt. I tried to start it up several times, until I noticed that the camshaft gear wasn't rotating anymore. That's when I realized what the problem was.
Pinalitan lang ng belt, nothing else was damaged. I guess it depends on the engine.
I know for a fact that the Toyota 2E engine (Corolla XLs & XEs) WILL be damaged if the belt broke. You won't be able to turn the crank independent of the cam, tutukod yung pistons sa valves.
