May 24th, 2006 11:58 PM #1Hi Honda Civic '00 or '01 owners, how much have you spent recently on maintenance? (parts replacements due to wear and tear, oil change, aircon maintenance, etc.) I'm planning to buy a used Civic (preferably '00 or '01 models), and I need help estimating additional costs on my purchase. I’m a first-time car buyer and I’m clueless about maintenance costs. Thanks in advance.

May 27th, 2006 10:00 AM #3Thanks for the replies guys. The '00 model that I'm looking at has a little more than 80t kms in mileage, while the '01 model is at 67k kms. The owners have records of their visits sa casa while the cars are still under service warranty. After those periods wala nang service records. But I'll ask them...baka meron silang records/receipts from other maintenance/repair shops. Both have automatic transmissions, btw. Magkano kaya estimate for the first visit sa casa or other maintenance shops after I buy either of them? How often do I go back to the shop for maintenance? Magkano naman estimate for succeeding visits? Ano typically ang nasisirang parts for these models? Pasensya na sa mga tanong...I'm a real newbie.

A typical pms sa casa would be around 2k-4k+. change oil, filter, etc. kung may major na papalitan, mas mahal syempre. Hindi naman sirain ang parts ng honda. As I've said, may mga preventive maintenance naman yan based sa mileage. You can check the owner's manual para malaman mo ang papalitang pyesa at a specified mileage. Saka marami naman available sa labas na replacement parts for hondas. If you're on a budget, bili ka sa labas ng pyesa and sa labas mo na lang pagawa.

May 26th, 2006 06:18 PM #7i have a 2002 civic vti a/t (out of warranty na). i just had my 80,000 pms last week sa casa. cost is around 16K+. madami pinalitan fluids saka yung timing and drive belt. but on typical regular pms like for the coming 90k, kelangan lang replace oil and oil filter.mura na lang yan. depende na lang sa gagamitin mong langis. btw, yun brake pads, sa labas ko na lang pinapalitan kasi mahal sa casa, 3k+. i got it 400 sa labas + 150 labor lang.

Exactly my question. Why does it have to be done all at the same time? They were already doing...
