my car (1993 mazda 626) has suddenly developed a ton of cooling problems. i've already had the big hoses replaced (to the tune of 2000 petot thanks to rapide... grrrr...) and the aux fan as well since it died.

however, it is STILL losing coolant (about 1/3rd liter every day). i know there is a problem in my valve cover gasket because the #2 spark plug has some oil on it. could a gasket leak cause water to get into the engine? honestly i haven't seen anong kulay nung exhaust gas (dapat puti kung may tubig, right?) kasi ang dilim dilim ng tint.

there is no water in the crankcase oil though...

failing radiator cap could be one of the culprit

coolant coming out from water pump breather or kapag wala kang nakita externally na leak malamang cylinder head gasket.

medyo mahirap hanapin kung patak-patak lang, look for tell-tale signs on the garage floor kung saan nakatapat yung tulo. Or check the engine thoroughly kung may makita kang dried-up coolant material - usually around that area may leak.

    already changed the cap...
rapide's inspection couldn't find any leaks. actually they just changed the hoses because they were really old and fluffy... but still not leaking.

Check mo kung saan may tumutulo. Either from radiator, hoses, or water pump. But don't lose your cool bro.

Minsan hindi mo makita na merong tulo kasi pinhole at mabilis magevaporate kasi hot. Try mo after a trip buksan mo engine compt and monitor mo kong merong mga wet areas.

why not open your window so you can see the color of the exhaust? a leaking head gasket not only causes a loss of coolant, it leads to rapid overheating. nago-overheat pa ba or loss of coolant lang?

since the hoses were recently replaced, then they drained the radiator di ba? so baka maluwag lang ang drain plug. remember that the drain plug turns counter-clockwise to close, left hand thread kasi (as opposed to the faucet in your kitchen and bathroom that turns clockwise to close). OR, maybe by turning the valve counterclockwise TOO MUCH the plug seat became loose and is now leaking (since it turns clockwise to tighten, right hand thread). gulo ba? hehehe! yun plug has 2 parts, seat and valve. the seat turns clockwise to install on the radiator, the valve turns counterclockwise to close.

check also the water pump baka naman may leak na. if there is additive in the water then you might see a red/pink/green residue near the water pump shaft or pulley if this is the problem.

it has (almost) overheated several times, kaya ko napansin merong problem. :P

Sakin walang leak or whatsoever. Ayun up to now di pa nasosolve.

water pump daw sabi ng some guys in evangelista. funny that i specifically asked about the water pump kung bumibigay na sa rapide and sabi nila walang tama daw... weird.

i KNEW i should've had that #$^%#$!! water pump replaced nung nagpalit ako ng timing belt. mahal mahal ng labor. anyway punta ako sa suking tindahan sa banawe for a second opinion.
