Installing a canopy on a pick-up truck

if you install a canopy on a pickup bed, can water still enter that space? mabasa ba siya pag umulan or pag pina-wash mo yung truck?

and is it better to install a canopy on a bed w/ a plastic bed-liner or sprayed-on bedliner?

if in the future, gusto mong tanggalin ang canopy, masisira ba ang bed ng pick-up?

Depende sa canopy. Kung yung mga Campershell ot Brahma type, hindi pasukin ng tubig yun. Pero kung yung canopy eh tarp lang, papasukin ng tubig. Ang nagiging problems dun sa Brahma eh yung hydraulic arm: kapag matagal mo nang gamit, medyo lumalambot na. 'Sabagay, lahat naman ng hydraulic arm eh ganito.

As for the bedliner, no idea ako dyan pero I think mas maganda kung mag-lagay ka muna ng bedliner bago ka mag-lagay ng canopy.

Yung sa masisira, hindi. May mga kabarkada dati ako na puro naka pick-up. Nung pinagtatangal nila yung Brahma canopy nila, hindi naman nasira yung bed.

'Nga lang, ewan ko pa kung may Brahma pa ngayon. Campershell, mayron pa. CarryBoy din.

Removable? Ummm....none that I know of, pero may mga nakita akong sliding/accordion type. Mukha nga lang eng-eng dahil mataas sa likod, tapos paliit sa gitna.

Mas maganda ang spray on bedliners but the price is double than plastic molded liners. Yung nakita kong plastic bedliners dati kinalawang inbetween gaps na napasukan ng tubig sa bed na hindi drain thru bed holes.

Then install canopies of your choice after installing bedliner. Meron pa rin pong Brahma canopies sa San Juan yung dealer along A. Mabini St. Pero karamihan ng nakikita ko Carryboy brand, mas aero dynamic at pogi daw ang design sabi ng pickup owners.

yun carryboy na roller up pinapasok ng tubig pero minimal lang naman. Meron naman siyan built in na drain kaya ok lang din. Yun may hydraulics hindi pinapasok yun pero hassle pag may laman na malaki yun likod mo hindi mo kita sa rear view mirror mo ang likod mo

mukhang ok naman pala ang feedback sa mga Carryboy canopies. may kamahalan nga lang, about 54K for their latest models. and agree ako sa nagsasabi mas streamlined and mas pogi ang Carryboy canopies hehehe

Yes. You can get a new one at your Carryboy dealer. Kung okeh lang sa 'yo ang surplus, sa Banawe.

Yes. Maraming pang-tanggal dyan na hind ma-damage yung paint mo or yung bedliner.

s-works anong pick-up mo? try mo ARB Canopies. it priced way below carryboy. Its material is like that of Brahma, available for most pick-ups execpt the newly released d-max and hilux.

in the case of bedliner na plastic or spray-on it depends on your use of your bed. if you carry heavy loads and oil based liquids better ang plastic, but if for decoration purposes ok ang sprayon. I carry v-8 truck engine blocks on my pick-up bed with plastic liner pag wala yan sure na yupi-yupi na ang bed.

A cheaper canopy would be the Campershell... mga 34K plus for the classic. Maybe you can get a package deal with the spray on bedliner.

I prefer the simple designs, masyadong maraming borloloy yung Carryboy canopy for my taste.

arb, right now may ranger ako but am considering changing it within the next few weeks. i'm considering the hilux gas but other things may swing in favor of not getting a pick-up in the end. tancha-tancha pa kasi hehehe

anyway, sa RATS binibili yung ARB di ba? i almost forgot that option! mas mura pala yun? ok na yun eh, but if they don't have for the new hilux, it may be a problem (sigh)

so Campershell still exists? somebody once told me that they had stopped selling here in RP, so i was probably misinformed. who sells Campershell in MM kaya?

re plastic or spray-on bedliner naman, my concern re the plastic one is that w/o a canopy, dirt and moisture tend to accumulate under it, like KIMPOY mentioned...and some people recommend periodically removing the plastic bedliner to remove the dirt. so i was thinking of the spray on. light loads lang naman balak ko i.e. luggage, bikes, dogs...maybe an occasional pc of furniture :-) ok na siguro yun 'no?

yup spray-on is much tougher than plastic one...
imho sa banawe a few meters from retiro street magkatapat ang campershell (look for brain diaz) and carryboy.

as for removeable, alam ko yung carryboy may patented silang parang C-clamp unlike sa iba bolton pero i think hindi easy alisin ng isang tao or 2 for that matter.
