Pag ma-diskarte yung electrician, kayang-kaya yan. Kasi, the problem is not with the horn itself naman, or the relay.
Dito ako nagpagawa sa may Regalado Avenue, Fairview, QC (going SM Fairview). Forgot the name of the shop, pero madiskarte yung owner at yung assistant nyang electrician. Backyard talyer lang.

Yup, I know. What I mean is, tumutunog pa naman yung busina mo di ba? (the actual horns, yung nasa tapat ng condenser). Problema mo nga lang is the adaptor which is inside the steering wheel, which also contains the mechanism for airbag deployment. Tama ba understanding ko?
Which is why I'm suggesting to bypass the adaptor. Medyo mahirap i-explain in writing kasi. But the essence is gagawa yung electrician ng improvisation. When the horn button is pressed, there is metal to metal contact. Now, ang gagawin nya, gawa siya ng panibagong connection from the SW to the horn relay, completely bypassing the adaptor. A 12-gauge wire, fuse and fuse holder ought to do the trick.

ask ko lang ho why would you compromise your safety sa halagang 6thou (for the part). napakaimportanteng safety device ang airbag, marami ng buhay ang naligtas dahil sa airbag. just my 2cents

First step was to disable the airbag. We actually had the casa do it (nuong pinacheck yung busina, pina permanent disconnect na namin).
Yung suggestion about removing battery connections and waiting about 15-30 mins to drain the power sa linya (capacitors and whatever perhaps) is also suggested by the casa. Yung taga DMax ang sabi nga sa akin, alisin ko lang yung fuse sa airbag...disabled na yun....I don't know kung sa nissan ganun din.
Next is to remove the airbag/horn assembly...usually 2 o 3 screws connects it sa manibela.
Pagkakalas mo, you can slowly pull it out. You will see two sets of wires - one set is for the airbag detonator/explossive and the other is for the horn.
Remove/disconnect them both.
Then remove the whole airbag and its detonator/explossive assembly...usually naka bolt pa rin ito.
The other wire (usually single wire is the horn wire). To verify this you can connect the battery again and then tap this wire to the ground (metal part na manibela)...the horn should work.
It if does, then you now just have to make a wire connection (gumamit ako ng proper connector para pede pa ulit ibalik sa stock condition yun). This wire will go one of the probe ng video switch ko. The other end naman ay ginawan ko ng wire connector dun nearest nut sa manibela (I used one from the mounting of the airbag assembly).
So now if I press this button ng video switch tutunog na ang busina.
The next step is to mount this switch sa gitna ng manibela. You'll need sa ingenuity for this....depende kasi sa setup na existing yan. Sa fieldmaster, yung airbag assembly merun plastic na parang cover (it is a bit thick mga 2mm) ito ang nagseserve ng backing ng original "band" horn switch. I bore a hole on this plastic nakasize ng video switch ko using the soldering iron (hot soldering iron will melt plastic). Then merun kasing nut na lock yun the plastic held the switch in place.
Yung space ng airbag serve the space for the switch (medyo mahaba kasi yun)...then pagbinalik mo lahat everything looked stock - wala na nga lang airbag. Hindi naman umilaw yung airbag sensor sa dash.
That pajero was still sold at P0.9M...kahit ganun na yung manibela some 3 years ago. Nung binuksan nga nung taga casa to inspect how we did it, namangha siya...pulido daw ang yari...nakapick-up tuloy sila ng style na work around for that problem (medyo lumalabas yata yung problem pag 5years old na yung fieldmaster).
HTH
PS yun pinaka face ng manibela ay hindi ko sinira (yung plastic sa loob ang pinagkabitan ng new horn switch) so sa labas everything look stock.Last edited by wildthing; August 8th, 2007 at 07:34 PM.

2-3 mins without battery power the usual time quoted on service manuals before working on or around the SRS system.
