your engine should start in one click if you have a strong battery (including connections), a good carb (fuel system), a working starting and ignition system...the cause of a wet spark plug (ignition system) should be determined for oil leaking into the combustion chamber (cylinder head)probably due to a blown cylinder head gasket, cracked piston and / or rings, broken valves and springs, etc...since this is more serious than the other related problems (if any), it should be addressed immediately and requires attention by a professional (as commented by one fellow tsikoteer). the minor ones you can troubleshoot for sure!

ps
the oil will not 'explode' when it comes in contact with spark...the fuel does get burned...and this combustion burns the oil.
