thanks for your replies guys, here's more info; the tires are fairly new (6months old), cambers have been checked already (fairly good, no adjustments needed according to the mechanic who checked them), and one mechanic I've consulted wanted to take a look at all the shocks(front/back) he suspects that 2 of the shocks are defective front left and right rear or front right and left rear this could be the reason why the car is beeing pushed up and down in a diagonal manner, comments anyone?

February 19th, 2005 12:50 PM #13parang worn shocks, shocks are there to dampen yung up and down motion na yan. para di parang spalding o mikasa ang dating ng sasakyan mo ehehe
ginagawa ng shocks pag na lubak ka instead madaming up and down kotse mo, isang up or down lang, tas yung energy kinokonvert nya into heat, at i desipate.
pa silip mo shocks mo sa left side, kung pwede pakalaas at pasakyan mo sa mikaniko mo yung structs/shocks tas pa talunin mo sya dun, pag tumalbog sa dun, sabihin mo buti nga sa kanya kasi di nya ginagawa maayos kotse mo :P

if you have a good spare tire...try replacing that on each corner to double check if all your tires are perfectly round.....test drive and check each tire.....

have you tried to run your car on paved asphalt? yun diretso ha! if in normal straight driving ganun prin then it might not be the shocks kasi straight driving nga e... it is somewhere in the tires section.. just my hunch..

more info: the dribbling effect (I really don't know what to call it) happens when the car is running at about 60-65 kph most of the time but sometimes it occurs at 40-50 and above 70kph! The same effect when you run it on paved nor asphalt roads. What I do is slow down the car and wait for it (dribbling) to stop then accelerate until it happens again, btw my car is an old 87' mitsubishi (box type) lancer

February 22nd, 2005 05:14 PM #18Have you replaced your shocks in the last 40k kms? Old, weak springs wear out shocks faster so it may be time to change both springs(after 18yrs!) and shocks. Don't use gas shocks on your model, they're too stiff for a light car.

Can you tell the condition of the shocks by just taking a visual inpection? or do you have to take it out and do a more rigid test or whatever? Anyway, I'm planning to go to an under chasis specialist mechanic this saturday maybe and I hope he can pinpoint the "culprit"

February 23rd, 2005 05:26 PM #20have you checked your shocks? you only mentioned shock mountings are defective. i had the same problem before with my old school ride. one of the shocks at the front was busted.
