Tsikot Tsips!
My 4 month old altis shakes at 35-40 kph. Before and after that speed, nawawala naman, or hindi ko na napapansin kasi higher na ang frequency. I had it checked at casa and they replaced the engine support (warranty claim), but the problem is still there. Casa had a wrong diagnosis on the problem.
Any suggestions and probable reason for the wiggling, vibration?
Thanks in advance,
50 Caliber

September 25th, 2007 12:18 AM #4Madami ang puedeng panggalingan ang vibration.
1) unbalanced pressure plate and clutch assembly
2) CV joints and axle
3) Shocks and suspension bushings
4) irregular tire wear/ tire irregularities
5) bent tire rims
6) unbalanced wheels
Kailangan dito ay isa-isang pa-check.

* BB, yessirr, ito unfortunately ang me problema, dati pa.
Had the wheels checked, though camber alignment wasn't done yet. Sabi sa akin ng service advisor, ok lang daw yun vibrations, dahil pag nag accelerate, ganun daw talaga. Though di pa ko nakasubok ng ibang altis, di kaya na normal lang sa kanya yun?
They lifted the car before sa casa and had the wheels turn with the 1st gear engaged, mayroon talaga vibration. Thats when they ruled out that maybe the engine support is the problem.
Is it ok to leave the car sa casa, and stay there until they fix the problem? Hassle pero gusto ko talaga maayos yung problema, kahit sa probinsya pa ang dealer ko.
Is there a way para mai pinpoint ko sa kanila ang problema thru third party diagnosis, or get some opinion with other dealers/casa?
Salamat po sa mga response nyo.

IMO ipa check mo muna sa labas (not casa), like Servitek, check lang, walang babaklasin or anything, then kung ano nakita nung pina-check mo sa labas, sabihin mo dun sa casa, ipagawa mo under warranty.
Or, dalhin mo kaya sa ibang casa baka makita nila problema.
Sorry to hear about your problem with your new Altis.

Is your ride M/T or A/T?
Clutch could also be the cause of this vibration at 40KPH....

If it's specifically at 40 km/h, I'd rule out clutch for the meantime...
I'd put my bet on an alignment or rim issue. Have your alignment checked and your tires rebalanced.
It's not uncommon to get a "lemon" tire, one that will vibrate even if it's not worn completely out. To rule out tires as a cause, rotate them all... Put your front wheels in the back and your rear wheels in front then test drive it. I'm betting that'll cure the vibration.
The casa replaced your engine support? If it wasn't busted, that was a waste of money... at least, since it's under warranty, it's their money, but still...
