hard starting corolla

mga pre, this morning i had this problem. when i tried to start my car, may redondo pero ayaw tumuloy. turned it off. stepped on the gas pedal 3x. re-start. rpm went to 800 initially down to 600 down to zero. namatay. stepped on the gas pedal again 3x. re-start. tumuloy na mag-start. any ideas what could be the problem? i also had this problem yesterday. ---1998 corolla xe 1.3carb (163T kms)

When was your last tune up? Check your fuel filter and ignition wires.

use the choke switch.
pull it then turn on the ignition,
kapag umi-start, i-tono mo na lang using the choke switch.

sorry guys but i'm still a newbie regarding cars since i just got mine last year. just changed oil & sparkplugs, & sprayed 3m carb cleaner, this month. naglagay din ako whiz octane booster & fuel injector cleaner on my last full tank with petron extra unleaded. changed air cleaner & fuel filter last feb.

could be many things. maybe you should give your car a full tune-up. try to check yung ignition timing. or could be in the ignition wires. but to be sure, treat your car a tune-up.

Nagpa engine wash ka ba lately? If yes, check kung nabasa spark plugs.

yes. after changing the plugs last august 1. pinacheck ko pa nga using torque wrench kung mahigpit kabit plugs kasi d-i-y lang change.

the only thing i did differently yesterday: after washing and waxing the car, pinag-overflow ko windshield washer water reservoir para lumabas yung dumi sa loob. yun lang.

[I]check for vacume leak ung mga vcume hose bka my natanggal,dirty idle jet sa carb, clog air cleaner , faulty or needs choke adjustment, defective trottle sensor at ito ang mtinde bka nka platinum na sparkplugs ka itapon mo na hehe

same problem this morning. i noticed 1 click lang ako last night going home from work and the car parked at the building basement maghapon. this morning, 3x na naman bago mag-start. may redondo pero ayaw tumuloy.

baka ayaw magkarga ng gas bosing.. check mo yung fuel lines mo, filter and injection baka barado na...

that is what i'm thinking. this morning before starting i stepped on the gas pedal 3x, turned the key on, nag-start! 1 click. hintay lang sweldo. i'll try to change fuel filter first, kahit kakapalit lang last feb.

tama nga cguro yun baka kasi nalinis nung mga additives and injection cleaner yung linya kaya nag accumulate yung mga residue sa daloy ng gasolina.

my problem's back! the first time it happened, bad battery. pero now it starts and dies, ayaw tumuloy. mga 4 tries bago mas-start. this only happens in the morning after parking my car outside overnight. any ideas from the experts? TIA

yes last july. changed oil & tuned up last january sa speedyfix.

i have the same prob with u Maverick...

ng-change n rin ako fuel filter... pero ala pa rin! even had mine tuned-up + clean carbs sa casa... no progress! what im doing is pgka-clik ko ng ignition and me redondo na bumba nlang ako sa gas pedal until mg-stabilize na sya (di na mamatay)!

this is really frustrating... i hope we can get solution to this soon! balitaan mko sir ha...

btw, ngsimula lang ito when i used a platinum tip plugs... pero binalik ko na sa resistor type... me effect ba un??
