hi guys,
The halvoline energy blue has been phased out by caltex.. What would be a better substitute?
btw, can I mix different brand as long as if has the same rating?

Try Royal Purple 5w30 or 10w30. Its 100% synthetic oil. It gave me better FC compared to Havoline Energy.
There is a thread about this oil. I belive the thread list the retailers. Just do a search.
Castrol also has a 5W-30 blend that's also labeled as FC (fuel conserving).
Am currently using Royal Purple 10W-30.
Be careful though in using the 5W-30, not all engines can use that safely in the long run (check your car's manual for the recommended oil weight for our tropical climate).

Oh nooooo! I'm due for an oil change pa naman! Ito ba yung nasa blue liter plastic containers labeled fully synthetic? I've been using this brand for some years now with good results. Can't remember if its 5-30w, is it? Can't seem to remember these numbers. Anyway, wala na ba nito?![]()
been a havoline energy user since nung semi-synthetic pa lang ito. hehehe.
but due to the phaseout state nito, napilitan ako maghanap alternative. and good enough... found Royal Purple. same rating lang, 5w-30. and so far (2months using na) so good! try mo na lang din.
are you sure na phaseout na ito? was in caltex slex this am. they were still selling it.
Biggs,
Just go to south super highway. There are 2 Caltex stations there. They are right on the highway. One is south bound after Petron near Mamplasan exit. The other one north bound, is right across Petron. Was here yesterday, may nakita pa ko.
You need to pay toll fees. Better look around near your place first.
