My officemate, actually one of my bosses here in the office is looking for a good mechanic where he can have his Trooper overhauled. His engine gave up on him already according to a compression test. Pero sulit coz his odo reads 450k!
Anyway, casa charges an unbelievable sum for this job and he's thinking of going to other mechanics to do the job.
Malaki ba ang matitipid niya? What parts should he buy, orig or are there also good replacement parts.
TIA

The parts we bought last time we overhauled: con rods, pistons, oils, screw/bolts, gasket, spring na maliliit na naka connect sa rocker arm (yun ba tawag dun tama ba), etc. Kulang pa 'to and parts palang.

For trooper ba itong parts na ito? how much? Is it worth it to overhaul daw ba or bili nalang ng new vehicle? I mean wala bang "side effects" ang overhauling?
BTW, he is also looking at the option of installing a surplus engine.
