by definition, pag aircondition, dapat talaga, may fresh-air na-iintroduce sa isang area at a given particular time.
Pero setting it in fresh-air mode in the city, baka di fresh air makuha mo, kundi usok mula sa mga jeepneys and buses.
REcirculate, you'l let the air circulate around the cabin.
economy wise, mas matipid yung re-circulating kasi, malamig na yung paikot-ikot lang unlike pag bukas vent mo for fresh air, higher temp na palalamigin pa ng cooling system, thus more energy required.

I only use the "fresh air mode" kapag nasa highway or walang kasalubong/kasabay na ibang sasakyan (lalo na mga jeep/trikes kasi amoy na amoy ang exhaust nila).
and in our country, kung nag-ffresh-air ka, mapapaaga ang linis mo ng airconditioning system mo...so ganito yan, just set it to recirculate..and if you want fresh air, just open the window...since di mo naman pinatay ung aircon, so no change in consumption, pero mas matagal nga lang lumamig dahil di nakakamaintain ng lamig sa cabin,e...
hindi bagay sa atin dito ang fresh-air mode. wala na kasing fresh-air dito halos sa manila.pollution lang papasok sa vent mo pag ginamit mo ang mode na to.
in other places/countries na malamig at less yung pollution maganda gamitin itong fresh-air mode. pag outside temperature is 15'C or lower kahit fan nalang gamitin mo ok na yung fresh-air mode.

Ginagawa ko na lang naka on ang aircon habang naka windows down lalo na kapag sobrang init sa loob ng sasakyan..
After ko pagawa yun aircon ko kay mang mario napansin ko naamoy ko yun usok sa labas, i found out na naka fresh air mode ako. Observation ko lang is mas malamig yun aircon pag naka fresh air kaysa naka circulate but then again patay ka sa usok.
yup lalo na kung nasa malamig na lugar ka like baguio..pero as it goes, patay ka sa alikabok, usok at sa mga mababahong amoy na mahihigop ng ride mo!
what if naka circulate mode ka pero naamoy mo pa din yung exhaust ng mga kotse sa paligid mo? lahat naman ng windows sarado. you think may problema na yung mga vents sa auto?

Huh? Isn't it the other way around? For faster and better cooling, you should set the switch (or dial) to "Recirculate" and not Fresh Air. Its even stated there in the manual.
Another thing that the manual says is that owners should not recirculate the air inside the cabin for a long time, and should switch to fresh air as soon as the desired temperature is achieved. But RP summers are really terrible...

i couldnt imagine a driver using fresh air mode while he/she is trailing a smoke belching bus.
kahit nakasara lahat ng windows and doors ng car, hindi pa rin naman totally enclosed yung cabin. meron vents lahat ng mga cars para hindi mahirap isara mga doors, at hindi mabasag ear drums ng nasa loob tuwing isasara ang doors dahil sa sudden surge of pressure. usually, dyan pumapasok yung mga amoy ng usok, especially kapag naka stationary yung car.Originally Posted by baludoy

Boybi is correct. And usually these exit vents are located at the rear portion of the vehicle. On old school vehicles like GEN I Pajeros, Urvan Escapades, etc. the exit vents are more obvious dahil nasa poste mismo ng sasakyan.
On sedans, there are exit vents in the rear parcel shelf leading to the trunk where the air is vented thru the atmosphere via vents concealed by the rear bumper.
For me, recirculate mode din parati. Dati kasi nun nilalagay ko sa fresh air, kung ano ano ang nakakapasok sa evaporator ng sasakyan ko. Puro dahon, hayop, etc.

recirculate para tipid kasi the air is already de-humidified kaya less burden ang comp. on long drive dapat ocassional fresh air pag tinatamad ka mag open ng window para mapalitan un ions sa hangin to keep you awake.
