I saw 4 this week. Just wondering, are there any advantages of having a dual exhaust pipes(not dual tips)?

Hmmm...AFAIK the advantage of dual exhaust pipes is that this set-up would allow the engine to exhaust more freely (compared to having just one exhaust). This lowers the back-pressure that is innate in an exhaust system. Since the exhaust capacity of the engine is improved, you would/might/could notice quite an increase in your engines HP. This provides less smoke for your exhaust. In turn, gaganda ang air-fuel mixture ng sasakyan mo. However, you would/might/could also notice a slight increase sa fuel consumption.
mga tsikot masters, tama po ba paliwanag ko?

tama ka dyan bosing. pero kung isa lang ang headers (meron ba nun?) ng oto mo and 2 exhaust mo e bling factor lang yung isa nun.

Well it depends on the engine, if your gonna put dual exhaust pipes on a 1.6li engine, it might degrade the performance of the engine at the lower to mid rpm range because there is too little back pressure.

baka jaguar yung nakita mong sasakyan?
parang mga new version owner jeeps, magkabilang side sa likod ang exhaust pipe.

dual pipes are appropriate for V-configured engines as what bluebimmer mentioned. in dual exhaust systems, you need to have a "crossover piping" or "H-pipe" to balance out back pressure.
The higher displacement, the better the dual exhaust will work.

AFAIK (warning, mahaba)
Dual Exhausts work for V6 to V12 configuration engines, with V6 benefitting from fully seperated banks, 3 left cylinders into one exhaust, 3 right cylinders into another... many systems will collect them into one for the sake of economy, but they're better off separate.
V8s have varying requirements, due to different firing orders and such, as uneven pulses in the firing order may not benefit from fully separate exhaust, thus a crossover between the separate exhaust pipes may often be needed.
V12s are often treated as twin V6s in tuning the exhaust system, separate exhaust assemblies for each set of 3 cylinders.
Four Cylinder engines don't benefit from dual exhausts, as they: a.) lower the backpressure too much, and b.) cause turbulence downstream... if it's one pipe going into two exhausts, that turbulence saps a lot of power.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

well of course dual tip is different from dual exhaust.
diba someone dressed up a mazda6 with dual exhausts? (pero isang set of headers lang yun i'm sure since I-4 lang siya)
is there any aesthetic benefit from dual tips?
