Cleaning Dashboard and its plastic parts

Hello to all car affecionados! I do have question about what brand and kind of material or chemical do you use in cleaning your dashboard and its plastic parts (like air louvers)? Do you use vinyl revitalizer on your dashboard and plastic parts? Lastly, where I can buy them?

Just buy an All Purpose Cleaner (APC) like Simple Green (available in True Value). Dilute it in distilled water (1:10). Spray on the dash and plastic parts, aggitate with a toothbrush then wipe off with a Microfiber cloth (if your a finicky like me ) or any cloth in that manner.

Is the All Purpose Cleaner (APC) like Simple Green is safe on plastic? Because I am trying to avoid discoloration on plastic parts of the dashboard.

kng tamad ka turtle wax formula cleaner pwede (green plastic bottles) especially if u park under the sun constantly. armor all pwede naman pero many say na masama daw sa dash but personally we used it on all our cars and have yet to see any damage at all.

Masama kasi sa Armor All, malangis. Kung ok lang sayo yung makintab na dash go for Armor All.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I went to Meguiar's website last time and they got lots of products regarding plastic, vinyl or dashboard cleaners and revitalizers. I don't know which one to select. Does anybody out there used the following products: Gold Class Vinyl/Rubber Protectant", EXTRA All Surface Cleaner, NXT Generation® Tech Protect?

Yup it is. You can also try Meguiars APC but its kinda pricey.

used the NXT Tech protectant. masyadong oily.. right now am using Megs APC then I dress it up with some Hyper Dressing diluted at 4:1. Maganda result IMO for me kasi Natural / Satin finish sya. ayaw ko kasi ng masyadong oily and shiny sa interiors.

im using mothers plastic polish for the lens of the gauge and stereo. it removes fine scratches and leaves a smooth finish. armor all naman for the dash.

Kung gusto mo ng madalian at madaling i-apply, get a can of Flash-Dash from Concorde. It cleans your plastic dash, makes it shiny and provides a protective film over time to prevent dirt and grime from sticking.

Kung masipag ka, I recommend the technique of ILD: get an all purpose cleaner.

I can't find the simple green all purpose cleaner that you are referring but I used the realiable MC multi purpose cleaner cream and it works. It removes tough dirt on my dashboard and it does not have the shiny appearance. :-)

ok yang mc, though a bit strong yung scent. pareho siya ng wipe-out, so pwede rin siguro yon, mas kasundo pa ng marami ang scent ng wipe-out, hehe.

i use the spray-on foam apc from Whiz which comes in this HUGE can which sells for only P165 sa true value. tagal ko nang ginagamit hindi pa rin nauubos. i also use it sa upholstery/carpet.

stopped using protectants a couple of years back din, pero personal preference lang kasi ok na sa kin yung cleaning ng apc. some would suggest a light application of protectant for, well, protection lalo na if bilad sa araw yung kotse and walang tint. for this, i remember seeing a "low-gloss" formulation from armor-all, kaya lang sa US ko siya nakita dati, i just don't know kung available siya locally.

note lang sa apc, may abrasives yan malamang so hinay-hinay lang sa pag-scrub/wipe kasi baka magka-scratch marks sa softer plastics.

safe lang ba ang wipeout dirt and stain remover sa mga tsikot natin? may armor all naman ako pero dami ko kasi extra wipeout kaya naisip ko gamitin sa sasakyan namin. ang concern ko lang baka harmful ito. any inputs mga sirs? salamat in advance.

as for the cleaner...i forgot the brand, its a foam type...i spray it to my dash, then use a toothbrush...tanggal lahat ng libag.hehe..well, it works for me!=)
