mga sir ask ko lang sana kung ano po top speed niyo sa car niyo... akin po kc nasa 120 lang(civic matic 97 model)... just want to gauge kung eto po talaga ang normal top speed niya.. any techniques on how to get it to more than that? tnx po.

i was able to go 140+ sa Star on my ESi a/t.
i dont know how you do that pero i guess dapat lang eh alaga mo
ang kotse mo. maayos ang suspension, gulong, hangin, etc. hindi ko
ma-explain eh. basta walang critical na problema ang oto siguro. ;)

sa akin 1996 120 lang top speed ko pero yung car meron pang ibibigay naggawa ko lang to pag overtaking sa highway hindi ko pa nasubukan isagad ang throttle medyo kabado na kasi ako e.

Tnx sa mga replies sir.... I guess medyo mataas nga ang top speed ng esi kasi naka 16 valves na agad siya di gaya ng vtec matic na dapat mo talagang i-rev hard para mag activate lahat ng valves. pero pag patay ang aircon ko, madali lang niya naaabot ang 120km/hour... ano kaya lagyan ng turbo?

mine is 97 civic ek body a/t from japan at hanggang 115km/hr lang ako kasi usually intersection na ang nasa unahan.hehe

110 kph pa lang although mukang kaya pa. 3.5K rpm ata jan sa speed na yan.

anyway, i some of dont mind me asking, ano fuel consumption niyo sa a/t?

yung sa amin (93 esi a/t) ay 6km/liter lang pag paikot ikot lang dito. max 10km/liter pag highway.

normal ba yan? mejo mahal na kasi gas.

the easiest way to increase top speed in my experience is to drive the car down a mountain :rofl01:

but seriously - i hit 115 mph (185 kmh) in my old Civic going down the I-5 mountain in California (the infamous "Grapevine").

mechanical ways to increase top speed? yes, a turbo or other ways to increase peak HP will help, but you may also want to experiment with taller gear ratios.

There was a time when my brother left his 1996 VTI A/T with me for a few weeks. I drove it a couple of times sa NLEX up to Mariveles, Bataan. Although my 99 LX M/T is 3 years younger, I can really feel a big difference between acceleration, fuel consumption, and top speed.

I guess ganun talaga mga automatic.

update ko lang mga sir about our matic cars... pede pala siyang pabilisin... i tried using the d3 gear, and ayun ang bilis umabot ng 100km/h... para din siyang manual umarangkada.. hehehe.... i got it up to 150km/h shifting late to d4.

ako 140 2000 Civic along katipunan one after noon ganda ng tunog naka KNN kasi pero sandali lang ang 140 ko at 1 time ko lang ginawa dangerous sa NLEX di puede baka mahuli at ikamatay ko

had a customer take his matic past 220kph na when it was turboed. 120 is way too low. either something is wrong with the engine or you are not pushing it.

ako hanggang 100 pa lang... mahal gas eh... tsaka, I don't wanna be sad pag di umabot ng kahit 120 so I prefer not to know hehehe

My car is a civic es 2001, mabilis lng 160, havent tried more than that. Pero nakafloor tlga sya and yung tunog is sarap sa tenga hehe

120kph along NLEX, FD Civic 2007. Haven't tried beyond that but the 5 speed automatic of the FD Civic might help increase its top speed.

Sirs, I tried flooring the gas pedal yesterday, with a friend on the passenger side and the aircon on, I was hoping for the gears to downshift but instead, my engine labored but didn't downshift. Result: parang di ko tinodo apak ang accelerator. What could be the problem? This isn't the case naman pag patay ang aircon. Just last saturday nagpa-tune up ako, change oil, change ATF, replace timing belt and water pump, tuppet adjustment, all care of Forcedspeed. Maybe palitin na ang transmission? Can anyone point me to a really good a/t specialist who can diagnose for me so I can decide on the best course of action? Sorry kung OT, pero I wanted to know kse kung ano talaga top speed ko...
