March 9th, 2014 04:59 AM #1Hi Guys i just need some of your time to add car maintenance checklist on this post
Very Newbie po kasi ako and medyo noob sa pag follow sa manual so i hope you can help me with this
Saka one of my inquiry is some guys told me here na Timing Chain ang toyota vios 1.5g so pano ang maintenance ko don? kasi i have 166,000 KMS na on my odometer
here are some of the maintenance that i know please feel free to add
thank you guys and i appreciate your help!
(Every 3 months)
Change Oil - semi synthethic
Change Oil , Fuel , Air Filters
Engine Wash
(Every 6 Months)
Tire Rotating + Balancing
Wheel Alignment + Camber
Full Throttle Body Cleaning
MAF Sensor Cleaning
Under Chassis Wash
(Every 12 Months)
Change ATF Fluid
Change ATF Filter
Radiator Flushing and Coolant Replacement
Replacing Break Pads and Break Fluid
Replacing Power Steering Fluid
(Every 24 Months)
Car Battery Replacement
Eto lang po alam ko eh i dont know what maintenance should i follow pa aside from this and im thinking na mas dalasan ko yung pag change ng ATF fluid gagawin ko sana every 6 months , saka yung sa timing chain i dont know how to maintain it or ano gagawin or irereplace.
Just bought the car last january and im rarely using the car ( 2-3 times a week ) pero pag ginamit ko naman talagang gamit na gamit naman . recently na mga pina service kona is coolant replacement and radiator flushing , change oil replace air fuel oil filters , change atf fluid , wheel alignment and camber .
please add some maintenance on my checklist thanks so much guys .

March 9th, 2014 10:50 AM #2dont do an engine wash if the engine is still hot.
btw, make sure the ATF you use is toyota type IV (for 1st gen vios).
additional info is to inspect the thermostat of you cooling system when you flush the fluids.

March 9th, 2014 06:19 PM #3Timing chain
Timing chain typically last longer than the life of the car. A car can last 40 years and never need change the timing chain. You only replace it when it gets broken. In comparison, timing belt may need replacement every 150,000 km.
Change oil, Oil filter
-Mineral, replace every 5,000 km or 6 months (whichever comes first)
-Semi-synthetic, replace every 7,500 km or 9 months (whichever comes first)
-Fully synthetic, replace every 10,000 km or 12 months (whichever comes first)
This is my own list for reference only. Please check your Owner's Manual for specific info about your vehicle's maintenance.
As needed
-Car wash
-Engine wash
-Underchassis wash
-Undercoating/Rust-proofing
-Interior detailing
-Exterior detailing
-Glass detailing
Monthly (or more often)
-Check tire pressure
-Check oil level
-Check coolant level
-Check ATF level
-Check washer fluid level
-Check brake fluid level
-Check battery (Replace when needed)
Every 6 months
-Check power steering fluid
-Wax car to extend life of paint/prevent rust
-Inspect all lights, horns, wipers and washer
-Buff plastic headlight assembly if dull (to maintain good visibility)
-Inspect brake pads and discs (Replace when needed)
-Inspect brake pedal and parking brake (Adjust when needed)
Every 12 months
-Replace wipers
-Rotate tires (Replace when needed)
-Inspect spark plugs (Replace when needed)
-Inspect hoses and clamps (Replace when needed)
-Clean battery connection
-Inspect and clean air conditioner system
-Grease wheel bearing
-Inspect shocks for leaks and perform bounce text (Replace when needed)
-Inspect U-joints (Replace when needed)

March 10th, 2014 12:58 AM #9it can be as simple as wheel balancing or baka suspension overhaul yan....
may kalampag din vios gen1 namin. pinaestimate ko sa crucen. estimate nila is about 7.5k for refurb of ball joints, rack end, replace stab link, and big suspension bushing.
if you want to lower the cost pwede ka magdala ng parts mo. example the big bushing costs 350 sa auto supply. 550 na sa cruven. yung stab link naman 350 din sa autosupply 950 naman sa cruven.
yung injection naman para sa balljoints ay okay.
wag mo pala iparefurbish ang shocks. pangit ride quality pag ganun
