    Helow!

I plan to buy something from larry's mustangs (larrysmustang.com). Problem is, I don't have a credit card and my friends won't let me use theirs. There's another payment option available sa site nila, which is C.O.D. How does this work mga chong? Is this safe? Pano ang bayaran nito? Also, is there any way to compute how much I will shell out including shipping fees? How long does it usually take before I get the merchandise?

Sa mga nakapag-try na buying parts online, especially restorers who have bought parts not available here, enlighten me naman o. Thanks a lot!

Hey Yomar! Larry's Mustang price parts are on the high side compared to other better Mustang sites/parts suppliers.

I recently purchased several parts for my '67 convertible mustang at Mustangs Plus (c/o Mr. Jim Young) and had it delivered to my sister in Georgia. All-in-all, it took them 3 days to truck from Stockton California to Dublin Georgia. My sis re-packaged the parts in balikbayan boxes (it took five balik-bayan boxes to contain the parts including alloy wheels). I paid via wire-transfer (it takes only two banking days to reach the U.S.).

    Recommended sites/suppliers:

    1) Mustangs Plus - Stockton California http://www.mustangsplus.com
    2) Mustangs Unlimited- Connecticut & Georgia http://www.mustangsunlimited.com
    3) National Parts Depot - Ocala, Florida & Ventura, California http://npdlink.com
    5) Coker Tires - for authentic classic/vintage tires e.g. Firestone Wide Oval http://www.coker.com

    Hope this helps!

I see. Good thing you have a sister in georgia. Thanks for the recommended sites!
Is it also possible to pay via wire transfer thru these websites? And how will I know the exact price including the shipping? TIA!

I have an aunt order from www.macsautoparts.com (the Ford V8 specialists). Then she ships the part to me.

LBC. But only for smaller boxes. Haven't shipped a big box, though. Usually, sinasabay namin sa mga relatives iyan.

can you guys give me an idea how much yung shipping costs?

also, is there a minimum weight, quantity in ordering? What if for example i just want to purchase 2 books from mustangsunlimited.com?

mukhang, kelangan ko na siguro kontakin mga relatives abroad.

for parts, its US$80.00 per balikbayan box door-to-door w/o weight limitations. it will take 30 calendar days to reach manila, philippines. in my case, my sis was able to haggle to bring it down to USD 75.00 per box because of the volume committed (5 boxes).

i don't know about books though? for books, i just order from amazon.com and have it shipped to manila. i normally pay via credit card for books.

yes, you can request to just wire transfer payment! for mustangs plus, it took only 2 banking days to reach the account of mustangs plus in california. Based on my comparison, mustangs plus quoted the lowest prices for the parts compared to mustangs unlimited. the highest quotation was given by larry's mustang.

another option is to use Western Union for payment. medyo mahal lang ang fees.

    yomar,

for mustangs plus, you can email jim young (exports manager) all your queries at jyoung*mustangsplus.com

i ordered almost everything from them - from the radiator to disc brakes, interior kit, convertible top kit etc...

Found the book i'm looking for at amazon.com. it costs $16. shipping costs to the philippines is $7. per item cost is $5. scarcity fee is $2. So total of $30. That's around Php 1650.

Uy baka meron diyan mag-oorder anytime soon sa amazon.com, pasabay naman bayaran ko agad. Ayaw maniwala ng friends ko na may VISA/Mastercard na safe naman mag-online shopping eh. hehehe. Thanks thanks!

woodfire: when ordering from amazon, tama ba computation ko? how about customs duties? meron pa ba?

Sa parts naman, siguro sa mustangs plus na lang ako bibili. Oo nga mas mura siya compared sa larry's. I'll email na lang jim young for more details. Thanks ulit!

i don't know about the scarcity fee though coz this is the first time i've heard of it! shipping costs depends on how fast you would like the delivery to take. the least expensive is the surface mail and the most expensive is the o-nite delivery.

customs taxes for 1 book is very marginal. with an invoice value of US$30, baka wala nang duties & taxes iyan.

since last year, what I do is I order here at "FULLY BOOKED BOOKSTORE" located at rockwell powerplant mall. they allow special orders as long as you have the complete title and author. allow 1-2 weeks before you can pick it up. their prices are very reasonable and not far from what you will spend in Amazon.com

This site has a taxes, shipping, etc. calculator. It's a little expensive though.

the person restoring my mustang has a couple of V8 engines. You might be interested. He has a 289V8, 302V8, and a 351W V8 engines with tranny.

Mine is a 289V8 which I modified by installing an edelbrock performer intake and a 4-barrel carter carburetor.
