May 6th, 2006 07:52 PM #1I had my car dyno-tested today at CreativeSpeed Las Pinas...
but im not posting results here yet. hehe.
cheap at Php1800 so i took the chance taking my newly revised car for a spin around SLEX and Coastal.
my engine horsepower seems correct but at an estimated drivetrain loss of just 15.3hp i feel that the wheel horsepower readout doesn't seem right.
Your thoughts?

compared to your total HP, how many % is that drivetrain loss? 10-20% ata is acceptable.

15 hp loss for a 100-150 crank hp engine sounds about right....do you have a m/t or a/t?

May 8th, 2006 10:01 PM #6the engine's mated to a manual tranny. honda civic. that's a strange result coz i thought that honda engines typically have a big drivetrain loss, with wheel hp usually about 30-35hp less than engine hp.

Hindi siya direct loss, percentage loss. 20-25% for an MT is about right. The higher the HP, the higher the rated loss. So if an engine is 115bhp, 90whp is acceptable, and if it's 160bhp, 120whp is common.
