sirs, the dexron II, dexron III, mercon, and mercon V are trademarks by respective auto companies (FORD & GM i think). These are all types of ATF classified by viscosity. All auto companies recommend different grades of oil to reach optimum transmission performance. We have to understand that our automatic transmission systems' temperature can reach up to 105 C. High temperature speeds up oil degradation, that's why ATF has one of the highest viscosities on motor oils.
It's similar to different engine oil grades.
Dexron III is supposed to last until 100,000 kms.
Mercon and Mercon V are almost the same viscosity as Dexron III
ADHP - F is the "regular" one.
Dexron II is one notch higher than AHDP - F.
There are also multi-vehicle ATF available in the market.
Full Synthetic ATF is lasts longer than mineral ATF.
***Usually Dexron III can be used for dexron II rated vehicles.
***And conventional atf replacement can only change up to 60% of your tranny oil/ATF. A lot of ATf is stuck in the torque converter, and the gunk inside too
Sirs the promo stated on the website has been changed: it's now 76 point.
