Im curious on everytime I saw a civic hatchback or any civic they always have no muffler but the sound is still deep and solid.

Can anyone tell me how they do it?I mean do they replace their resonator or full exhaust without a muffler
I'm planning to do it as well because my exhaust pipe hits my suspension but im not sure if it will sound as those civic are.
Can anyone help..
