ask ko lang , ano ba ang advisable na tire height sa isang 17 inch na mags given our present road conditions. totoo pala yun sabi ng isang poster na pag nalubak masisira gulong lalo na yun manipis na 40 series. i am using a 215 50 R17 ksi nalubak ako na deform. at totoo ba na pag mas heigher yun height na gulong mas less prone na sya sa deformation pag nalubak? anong gulong bibilhin ko? thnx --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IMO, driving on our local dilapidated roads should not have low profile tires. Minimum ratio aspect should be 70 and above.

If I were you, I'd sell the low ratio and get the bulging offroad tires. A 265/70R15 sounds safe enough to run on EDSA.

Iba po ang rallye spec tires, thicker sidewalls and tread plies. Plus different model of tires are used on each given terrain. The one you saw on display was sporting another set of tires not used for competition. Just for display and showing purposes only.

Street tires does not have the ability to protect itself from sudden bumps and potholes. Their ability is just to keep the air in and provide grips on dry or wet surfaces. Given the potholed streets in our metropolis, it would be much better to use 60-70 ratio for your ordinary city driving ang highway drive. To protect your invested money on those mag wheels.

dapat hinay lang pag naka 17" rim ka or talagang sira yung tires and rims mo. that's why im also changing my rims to something smaller baka mag 16 ako with 55 or 60 series. masyadong kawawa yung gulong dito sa atin. bad trip lang.

    about your mags..
if the bare-naked eyes couldn't see kung na-bingkong na ito
    or na-deform..

some tire shops like Miller's sa may QC..
say that your mags needs to be pressed kahit di naman sira.

I agree hindi talaga pwede 17 sa Pinas 15 or 16 pwede pa as long as the series is 60-70 pa rin....Pero marami pa rin ang bumibili ng 17 inch na mags...
Mag 17 ka if you're not passing roads like EDSA or streets that are rough...
I already find it hard since my car is small and has only 145/70R12 series and the rear is 155/80 series

i've been using 205/40/17 tires for over 2 years and wala pa ako naging problema with bengkong or any other tire problems. it really is in the way you drive and pick the route you take.

also, depende kung maganda suspension mo. if you have a good one that is able to absorb most of the bumps then this should minimize the chances of damaging your wheels and tires.

    btw, evo's have 225/45 tires.
