    hi to pajero masters!

when do you think it is advisable to replace the timing belt? should you go by the mileage or the number of years in service?

we have the same gen2 paj ng friend ko and he found out na malapit nang maputol yung belt although 70k pa lang mileage kaya lang mag-9 years na. he also found out na matagal nang putol yung isang belt sa ibaba ng timing belt mismo. i don't know kung para saan yun. he plans to replace the two in the soonest possible time but in the meantime he's risking his ride by driving with the broken smaller belt.

we almost have the same model although medyo "bata" ang ride ko by months so i'm anxious na baka malapit na ring maputol belt ko.

what purpose does the smaller belt have? sa tingin ko ok pa naman takbo ng paj ng friend ko kahit putol na ito.

60,000 km mileage id the best time to replace your timing belt (4d56) considering orig mitsu yan, pero kung replacement, better change at 50k km. napotulan na kami ng belt at 50k km replacement lang kc.

May L200 kami 4d56 rin ang engine

IMO, never buy replacement parts when it comes to something as delicate as a timing belt.

Bilin mo orig, we bought one at ATCO las pinas (dulo ng las pinas) maganda dito there are mechanics na naka stambay. Coz when replacing the timing belt minsan may mga parts na kailangan palitan like fan belt, etc.

To answer your question the ideal time to replace it is 70,000km but we replaced our L200 at 100,000km ngayon ang mileage nasa 172,000

kami rin 70k km nagpalit ng timing belt sa gen1 pajero namin dati. pero sa maintenance schedule ng mitsubishi ay dapat palitan ang timing belt at 60k km pms, which is considered as a heavy check-up. kaya ako, kakapalit lang din ng timing belt ng isang mitsubishi namin (though di ito 4d56 engine) kasi kaka 60k km lang nun. =) mabuti na ang sigurado

nasa magkano ba ang timing belt ng 4d56? and may iba pa bang parts na kailangan palitan kapag nagpapalit ka aside from the timing belt?

these are the parts that diamond motors replaced when i had the timing belt changed: timing belt, timing belt pulley, camshaft oil seal, crankshaft oil seal, valve timing pulley, and timing belt adjuster. i think ganito rin yung mga papalitan sa 4d56 engine coz basic parts naman ng engine ito.
