    price isn't bad at all!

hmm, afaik ABS na yan, most post 97 cars ng Nissan may ABS na...

Wait for VINJ (or send him a PM) for details ng car..

I think check mo ang cold start kung maingay ang chain, baka kailangan palitan tensioner...

Yung power steering check mo din, afaik yung Y connector nya medyo common ang may leakage.

Check mo nadin kung kumusta idling nya to be sure the sensors are in check...

Other than that, test drive it fast and slow. The usual stuff you check pag test drive ng isang oto...

Interior, check mo yung mga leather kung crack na sa driver's seat...

Lastly, of course, check if it's clean in terms of its paperworks.

OT: hey theveed, i noticed you have a bigberts logo on your sig. do you own the place? anyway, i've been wanting to go there to have my cefiro detailed. can i ask you a question? if i have it detailed there, matatanggal pa ba yung mga water stains that i get sa paint? kasi white siya e, and everytime na tutuyuan ng water nag iiwan siya ng mark, and its a real pain to remove, kasi madiin at ilang beses ko pa siya ipunas bago matanggal.

Test drive it in traffic... about an hour should do. Make sure the AC is okay (medyo sore point ang AC... IF you need to fix it) and that the battery and alternator are in good condition, as the Exalta has a lot of electrical and electronic goodies that put a big load on that alternator.

Also make sure that the transmission holds up well in traffic, doesn't get jerky or too noisy (most old ATs are noisy anyway, but as long as it shifts well, that's okay). Check the transmission fluid, too... make sure it's clear and free of water and particles.

280K sounds like a good price. It's a fine commuter car.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    sir,
the exalta sta is an abs equipped vehicle.
excellent overall unit in it's class during it's time. best buy.
    afaik, nissan parts are expensive....

you can say that again (we have a cefiro)! hehehe but i think the STA would be a worthy replacement for our ailing civic vtec. pang city driving lang naman. and i'm more into creature comfort than speed, for this type of car.

    thanks for your comments.

Wow, only 280K? Ang mura nun a, I'm also about to buy an Exalta, Black naman kaso hanggang 330K lang daw yung last price from 368K. Couldn't find anything lower than that na maayos lahat ng gizmos and ok na over-all engine cond. Im settled with buying an Exalta, but Im having a hard time finding a cheaper all-functioning unit.

Theveed and Niky pretty much summed up everything to look for at the Exalta.

Just dig up the service records and see if it had been maintained well, according to schedule. If not, palit lahat fluid (ATF, oil, PS, etc.) and filters yan.

Since it seems you know the owner; the price doesnt arouse any suspision to the origin and condition of the car. Normal going rate for a B14 Exalta now is at 300-340K.

buyahin ko lang yung thread na to. its been a couple of weeks since we got the exalta, and altho we got it at a very reasonable price, its not without its headaches. one major problem i have is with the central locking system. i hope maybe you guys can help me out.

everytime i try to lock it with the alarm button or manually, i hear this drilling sound coming from the doors, and even a very faint drilling sound sa may steering column. na replace na yung acutuators pero sabi nila may problem pa rin daw. has anyone experienced this? the sound only disappears when i start the engine ulit and turn it off.
sometimes din yung locking switch sa may driver side door panel di rin gumagana, sometimes naman gagana siya. haaaay, i hope someone can shed some light.

hey attic-dude...exalta 2000 STA owner here...kinda same experience..drilling sound when you unlock using the keys...i believe i heard a guy complained also about this on his 2004 sentra GX...he said something about ABS check daw yun..it wasn't clear and i hadn't had the luxury of talking to this guy.

Moreover, one of the door actuators at the back works..sometimes not...i'm guessing a wiring or actuators needs replacements...My motorized antenna is a bit problem too...it's not diving all the way when turned off....but I believe these are just minor issues with the car....overall..the exalta STA is an experience...cool car...try posting on the nissanbayan.com....be a member....nissan bayan members are a big help.
