it's there to help channel away the heat from the ic. in traffic or when moving slowly. sagad sagad yung init ng ic which will cause less power. having a fan allows it to get a bit cooler. this is the problem with all top mount ic systems.

parang sa mga computer fan pala yan eh. So ok lang naman siguro kung hindi na yun muna palitan?

    Have experienced this:
Check the sensor first, its located at far right end (on the side) of the intercooler -if you're in front of the engine bay. It helps "cool" down the IC and yun turbo na din in effect di ba. Try nyo idirekta muna (bypass sensor)just to test kung okay pa fan. The sensor cost me P900 yata 1.5yrs ago e. Pero for about 2mos "manual" muna ko by bypassing the sensor and extending the wires into the cabin where I had a switch to turn it on/off.

If I remember correctly: Pag masyado mainit daw pasok ng hangin sa turbo (bec of insuficient "InterCooling") maluluto daw faster yun lubricating oil sa loob -especially if we don't let it cool down before switching engine off. With other particles in there, magiging latak daw ito na makakahamper eventually sa turbo fan and/or worse -it might act as sort of "liquid sandpaper." If this happens naman, magkakaron ng kalog yun turbo fan or cause it to stuck. Turbo cleaning and/or rebuild ending...

    Just sharing po..

that's why you have to be consistent in changing diesel oils.
