I'm sure this car has been discussed here before but after Ondoy and Pepeng, I just thought that it, or any of its siblings would be perfect for the Phils...

Too expensive. As I recall, it costs some $200,000 (9m pesos) to buy one... (checks internet... memory correct! Yay! I'm not senile! :hysterical: )... so add import tax to that, and it'll be in the region of 15-20 million pesos.

Even the cheapest ready-to-run brand new amphibians cost some $50,000 - $100,000 in the US.

If they did bring that in here, Richard Guttierez could buy one... so he could rescue Christine Reyes from the next flood...

As long as he doesn't flip it over like he did his last toy. But if he does, and does it on water, I'm sure a lot of people will be very happy...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Yup, according to this site http://www.businesspundit.com/gibbs-...to-us-in-2010/ the car is scheduled for US launch in 2011. They say it's priced bet. $85k to 100k online, but at showrooms, it'll most likely come at a premium.

In the Phils, it won't be just Richard Gutierrez who'll be able to afford this. I can think of a certain president's son whose SALN ballooned mysteriously. I'd like to see him in an Aquada that flips on the Pasig river. That way if the accident doesn't get him, the polluted waters will... with leptospirosis to boot. On 2nd thought, he's already got kleptospirosis.

Aquada: If only we had it here...
