I don't know that, at 58 years old, I'm not too old to be posting in forums--I suspect I am. But I own a '99 Opel Vectra 2.0 CD and for years it has served me well (I drove it a couple of times all the way to Cebu by way of Bicol, ferried it accross to Allen in Samar, shook it quite some over the terrible roads of Samar, went through San Juanico bridge and unto Tacloban, Leyte, then to Southern Leyte province for the ferry ride to Cebu; and that's just for starters as I covered most of Luzon many times with it). I cannot entertain the idea of parting with such a trusty steed. At no time have I been left with it at the roadside except once in Samar and the problem was that one front tire simply gave up because of the nasty road.

My wife has a fondness for the car and calls it "Adolf", it being a German brand.

Spotting this thread and seeing how helpful it can be to me is God sent. Opel ownership is never an easy thing (a sizebale drain on the pocket) but it has its rewards and the latter more than makes up for the former.

Among the problems that I share with others here are about the airconditioning, the ignition coil and the shocks. Reading many of the posts, I am starting to learn. And, I'm sure, will learn more.

    THANKS FELLAS!

sir, glad to know your boy Adolf is serving you well. We had the same one, but the 2000 model. (blue din ba sa inyo?) :D

Yun nga lang, the aircon nga..... it broke down twice..... in one week. It was quite more than a sizeable drain for us that was the last straw, and my father sold it for a Forester, which was distributed by GM din at the time.

I have to agree with you though, it was indeed a great great car. shifted smoothly, drove like a bat out of hell, and respectable fuel economy (for us anyway).

Seloso ata mga Vectra eh. When we were using it almost everyday, it didn't give us any major breakdowns for over 20,000 kms. Then my dad got an office car, ayun. Nasira aircon. Just give it attention. Always.

Hello, I have a 2000mdl opel vectra wagon. Unfortunately 2 years ng stockup and not running. Any advice here where I can bring my car for restoration. Badly need help kasi nabenta ko na yung ride so Im planning to restore my opel ASAP. Ayaw ko naman dalhin sa casa, might end up buying a second hand one sa price ng casa.

Info: Bought this from tita. Am very happy with it. But, I am looking for a non-casa, affordable and reliable repair shop here in QC. Casa repair is draining my wallet. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hello, napadaan lang po... I'm new to European cars and this is my first one.

Mga sir, saan po ang ATF filler/cap/dipstick ng mga Opel Vectra? Specifically 2.5 V6 (CDX)...

I forgot to ask the previous owner about ATF. Medyo mataas narin itinakbo nito (almost 80k on the odo) and I want to check the ATF.

Also, pwede ba substitute ang ATF para sa power steering/clutch fluid? Diba yung ibang kotse okay sa ganito, pero paano sa mga Opel?

I recently downloaded a Haynes manual kaso hindi sakop ang 2.5 V6.

    Salamat po!

not sure where it is located, but if you want to make sure go to a gasoline station, they can change that,, atf dextron3 must be used. dont use dextron2 or ordinary.
