I don't know that, at 58 years old, I'm not too old to be posting in forums--I suspect I am. But I own a '99 Opel Vectra 2.0 CD and for years it has served me well (I drove it a couple of times all the way to Cebu by way of Bicol, ferried it accross to Allen in Samar, shook it quite some over the terrible roads of Samar, went through San Juanico bridge and unto Tacloban, Leyte, then to Southern Leyte province for the ferry ride to Cebu; and that's just for starters as I covered most of Luzon many times with it). I cannot entertain the idea of parting with such a trusty steed. At no time have I been left with it at the roadside except once in Samar and the problem was that one front tire simply gave up because of the nasty road.
My wife has a fondness for the car and calls it "Adolf", it being a German brand.
Spotting this thread and seeing how helpful it can be to me is God sent. Opel ownership is never an easy thing (a sizebale drain on the pocket) but it has its rewards and the latter more than makes up for the former.
Among the problems that I share with others here are about the airconditioning, the ignition coil and the shocks. Reading many of the posts, I am starting to learn. And, I'm sure, will learn more.
THANKS FELLAS!

that was the last straw, and my father sold it for a Forester, which was distributed by GM din at the time.
