Guys tanong ko lang.. my astra is comming up to 70k.. you think its still worth changing the exhaust system and other stuff?

bro edl100, 'tis me again... where can you find the cabin filter in ASTRA? is it replaceable as well? or pwedeng linis-linis na lang. Everytime na i-on ko yung fan ng aircon eh may stale smell siya for about 5 minutes. I think it because of that...

By the way, thanks for the tip. I managed to removed the two plastic inside the air filter plastic canister (or whatever you call it ) so hindi na restricted ang air intake.

Oo nga pala, normal ba yung tumatakbo pa rin yung radiator fan for about 2 minutes after you turned-off the engine (car key removed)? ngayon ko lang kasi napansin na umaandar pa rin yung sa akin after I drove for about 30Kms (70km/hour)... parang feature yata yun ah

Hi, regarding the cabin filter, It cannot be cleaned but has to be replaced periodically. Parang air cleaner sa engine. After such time, dumudumi na masyado and di na malilinis ng air pressure. Cheap lang naman yung cabin filter ng aircon. BTW, I am not 100% sure of your cabin filter location since you have a right hand drive car. But it can be accessed when you remove the glove compartment. It is supposed to be on the footwell area. Just follow the blower motor tubing till you reach a rectangular area with clips. That is where the cabin filters are hiding.


regarding the radiator fan, you have a different engine. In the Philippines, we do not have the Z18Xe. It is normal for that engine for the fan to turn on for a few minutes even though you remove the key. I actually like that feature which is standard on most newer Volkswagens. The fan turning on shows that all your electricals, ECU, thermostat, sensors etc..are in perfect condition!! Just make sure the fan turns off.

Kumusta na ulit?... Bakasyon ako ngayon kaya I have a lot of time tinkering with my rig. I managed to locate the (cabin filter) "pollen filter" as they call it here, noong tinanggal ko siya straight away alam ko doon nga nanggagaling yung stale smell from the fans. It is more expensive than the air filter.. yung air filter eh nagkakahalaga ng $16AUS whilst yung pollen filter will cost me $40AUS di kaagad ako bumili kasi iniisip ko makakabili ako sa labas pero sa mismong holden retail lang mayroon so maybe on monday i'll buy a ewplacement one.

Man, kung nakunan ko sana ng picture (di ko nadala camera ko eh) makikita mo kung gaano kadumi. almost blocked na ng pollen/small particles and insects yung mismong filter kaya pala halos maamoy na siya at wala ng pumapasok na hangin... sa ngayon ini-vacuum ko na lang muna until I got the replacement. I think hindi advisable yung walang filter doon...

by the way, yun bang mga ASTRA n'yo or OPEL to be exact eh puro star key din ang gamit na mga screws and nuts? thanks, hirap kasing maghanap ng kasukat na tools eh...

tinanong ko nga pala sa holden astra dealer dito.. yun daw dire-diretsong pag-ikot ng fan kahit turn-off na makina is a feature ng turbo-charged engine although alam ko walang turbo yung makina ko... so I don't know
