If you make it naman, sulit sa sweldo na makukuha mo.

Want to share also my views/opinions.
Nasa O/G field din ang trabaho ko pero more on Hook-Up and Commissioning but sometimes involved in Geohazard and Geotechnical Soil investigation offshore (hindi ko linya ito but my Company just send me to "look-see-look-see").
Started my career thru AG&P sa Heavy Construction (considered as launching pad ng mga O/G personnel sa atin) doing onshore fabrication of various Offshore Platforms, sure you’ve heard that one before and was previously own by the Villanueva family before DMCI now.
Pag sinabing onshore construction, dito binubuo ang mga structures in modular form at isasalpak sa offshore sa isang Jacket to be called as platform.
Kaya dito lahat ng engineering discipline ay involve sa pag-buo to make it run, and produce gas & oil.
rigzone.com (as mentioned above by other posters), worldwideworker.com, oilcareer.com ay ilan sa mga website to find the O&G job opening. If interested, try browsing www.mmhe.com.my & www.simenet.com ito yung 2 largest construction company in Malaysia dealing with the Oil and Gas industry.

Kidnapped Filipino oilworkers in good health--employer
Last updated 01:25am (Mla time) 06/24/2006
OSLO -- Two Filipino oilworkers taken hostage this week in the Niger delta are in good health, their employer, Norwegian oil services company Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS), said on Friday.
The two Filipinos working near Port Harcourt were abducted on Tuesday at Aker, near a navy base in the city, by six armed men in a speedboat, but no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
"PGS is pleased to report that it has received further information concerning the state of the two hostages and confirms that they are both in good health," company spokesman Ola Boesterud told Agence France-Presse.
"The company hopes that contact can soon be established with the hostage takers and is coordinating efforts to bring this situation to a quick and successful conclusion," he said.
Boesterud declined to say whether any demand for ransom had been received, or what his sources of information were.
Earlier Friday, Nigerian officials said security services appeared to have established contact with the kidnappers.
Port Harcourt is at the heart of the Niger Delta region where several oil firms have their operational bases.
Since January, the region has seen a wave of attacks against foreign oil companies and their employees, launched by armed separatists and local communities demanding a larger share in oil revenues and compensation for the destruction of their ecosystem by oil exploration.
Apart from the two Filipinos, 29 expatriates working for oil firms have been kidnapped since the beginning of the year. All have been released unharmed.
yes, it is being adopted. unfortunately, IMHO, it's a load of cr*p. what if someone did come from country A and is living in country B, where the cost of living is much, much cheaper than their country of origin? I've got lots of colleagues from countries with high costs of living but are staying in countries with much cheaper cost of living. So how come they don't get paid the same as thos e people who are from and are living in the country with a less expensive cost of living?Originally Posted by jeanpierre

Yung batch namin ang 1st na kumuha sila ng fresh grads (i.e. 0 experience). sidenote lang sa mga ECE. once you go offshore, there's no turning back (IMO).

i also work in offshore mga sir last march 2006 lang...
pero dati i work sa terminal at refinery sa pinas (2 yrs), dubai (7 yrs) and papua (2 yrs)...i have work sa laboratory (lab tech up to manager) and also in blending and refinery planning (production)...Chemical Engr ako kaso lagi lab ang punta...
well dubai is a very nice place kaya lang wala kang maiipon doon and ang daming chicks jeje...and papua is like the loneliest place on earth at dangerous din though it was my stepping stone papunta australia...
dito ako sa australia now, 4/4 sked ko and i work as a "chemist lang" pero the salary is still really high even with tax and CONTRACTOR lang company namin (about A$20K higher sa salary offer sa akin na mag manager sa isang new australian laboratory onshore na di ko tinaggap kase yearly ang uwi)...
dito i get to go home every month, wala pressure sa work, less responsibility, yun nga lang travel by chopper a lot pero oks naman safe...its a nice place din with a lot of nice people...
PERO target ko ay DIRECT HIRE hehe coz i have seen the salary of a direct hire Operator (which could be lower than the Chemist or comparable) to be A$135,000 per year...
Imagine that, so guys if you know any vacancy sa Australia or Asia (i do not like Africa, very dangerous and Middle East dami hassle na coworker) cool ako hehe...
regards to all ;-)
500 OFWs caught in middle of riot in Kazakhstan oil plant
INQ7.net, GMA7
Last updated 06:29pm (Mla time) 10/23/2006
At least 500 overseas Filipino workers were caught in the middle of a violent confrontation between Kazakh and Turkish workers in an oil refinery in Kazakhstan, GMA Network’s “Flash Report Special Edition” said Sunday.
The riot has left at least 40 dead and many more injured, the report said.
Though they have not been involved in the riots, the OFWs said they are far from any Philippine consulate or embassy. They told GMA-7 that the nearest place where they could seek refuge is the Pakistan embassy.
Judito Bocasas, an OFW speaking for his fellow workers in Kazakhstan, told GMA-7 they were safe and no Filipino was hurt in the rioting because someone helped them evacuate from their barracks.
The Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs has sent orders to ensure the safety of the OFWs there, the report said.
They will be hiring engineers. . Just got the info from Personell Dept.....Almost 2 years na rin ako sa Company.

Meron kasing offer na salary di base sa standard of living kung saan country ka galing which is $7,600 at sched is 28/28.
boss yebo, accommodation nyo nasa rig or nasa barko?
double post, see below hehe...

^^ yung bosiet w/ huet sa qatar tanggap naman sa south east asia. pero expect mo na i-send ka nila for new training after your first hitch. galing din ako ng qatar, nung 2009-2010 at ok lang naman yung certificates ko na galing dun. pero as i said after a few hitches kahit di pa expired renew na agad, ang bosiet/huet ko sa Subic, sa IDESS. napunta ako ng qatar kasi tumiklop yung premium drilling so no choice ako tinanggap ko offer ng gulf drilling. pero 1st chance ko bumalik dito sa south east asia talon agad ako. mas mataas kasi ng 50% ang sweldo dito kesa sa middle east. bayad naman nila ang training e, may training pay ka pa so no worries pag dating sa training.
sa rig ang accomodation sir, dito lahat nangyayari. sleep, shower, eat, work, eat, work, eat, shower, sleep..... hangang matapos ang 28 days at makabalik ka sa civilization. iniisip mo siguro yung tender, hiwalay ang accomodation sa rig. may ilan klaseng rigs kasi - tender, barge, jack up, semi, drill ship, submersible, and of course land rigs... ang nasampahan ko na ay land rig, semi, barge, then balik sa semi, then ngayon nasa jack up ako.
don't deal with agencies. may internet na, hello! apply direct, get hired direct, get paid with no deductions!
