Nag work din ako sa africa. It's Gabon to be exact under Total-Elf contract.Location was in the middle of the jungle. Araw-araw kasulubong namin puntang location ibat-ibang wild animals na before nakikita ko lang sa Discovery at National geographic channel hehehe. Hirap lang travel kasi lost 6 days punta at pauwi at rotation is 28/28 lang. Hate the waiting time din sa Paris airport kasi almost 15 hours dahil flight to asia starts close to midnight lagi.

french company po ba ang TOTAL -elf?

As qman said, it's french company. Malaki field nila sa Gabon.

I've been in Africa for 13 years na, so far the best place for me is now my workplace Eq.Guinea. Tahimik medyo takot lng kaming makagat ng lamok dahil may malaria.
Worst Place: Algeria, travel kami on bullet proof yellow school bus then may military escort sa harap at likuran.

sagot ko sa question: yes, based sa home country ang sweldo. tagal na ko nagrereklamo tunkol dito, pati vice president ng company nakasagutan ko na. sa awa ng diyos e mukhang ngayong april e magkakaron yata ng resulta yung pakikipagaway ko sa lahat ng manager na pwedeng awayin ehehehehehe! pero hindi pa din parehas sweldo, since ang nilalaban ko lang naman e "same standard of living" at hindi "same salary". in other words gusto ko mabili sa pilipinas yung kayang bilihin ng relyebo kong kano sa america.

yung mga companies na alam ko na patas ang bigay ay diamond offshore saka atwoods drilling. does not matter saang lupalop ka ng mundo nangaling basta kaya mo ang trabaho. kaya lang halos wala nagreresign dun kaya hirap din makapasok.

yung pinsan ko kakatanggap lang nya this month, schlumberger wireline. nag-hiring ang schlumberger sa pinas last january, lumabas sa inquirer ang advertisement. deploy sya this march 15 going to qatar, $2k+ daw ang bigay (di pa nya alam exact figures wala pa yung contract nung umalis ako last week e.) 27 lahat sila na nakuha. dating senior engineer ng wartzila philippines pinsan ko kaya sisiw na yung makina ng wireline pag dating nya dun.

yung kapitbahay naman nila ermats ko paalis din sa march 20, doctor yun pero nag-apply na rig medic sa offshore (email sa kanya yung isang doctor friend nya na rig medic din sa qatar). sa qatar din punta nya. dami tanong sa akin kung delikado daw trabaho, lalo na takot sumakay helicopter ehehehe! di pa mandin marunong lumangoy ehehe!

Alam ko daming Hiring sa Qatar lalo na gas field.. schlumberger wireline??? Yebo ano trabaho nya wire line Operator laki din kita ng mga yan pero parang bitin yung 2K$ kung ganon lang offer sa kanya... Kung schlumberger Reda medyo relax lang mga ESP namin sila may hawak ngayon.

mechanical technician lang position nya e mechanical engineer kasi. di bale basta makapasok sya pag andun na bahala na sya dumiskarte. ako nga 15 years ago $1200 lang sweldo ko. yun daw mga ece mas malaki ang offer at trainee wireline operator ang position.
