Imho lang, halos lahat naman ng bansa affected sa pagbaba ng dollars ngayon...dhil masyadong nakatuon ang isip ng president sa labanan ng ibang bansa like iraq, etc... well tingnan na lang natin kung pagdating ng bagong president next year ay maibalik nila ang pagiging hari nila...

don't always believed what others say... meron din nagsabi sa akin na by last quarter ng 2009, ang $ to Php ay 31-32 pesos!
not a pro-gma here and also an OFW... kahit sino pa ang nakaupo na presidente sa ngayon ay hindi mapipigilan ang pagbagsak ng dollar! not even the US themselves.
but the irony here... isa akong empleyado ng top 2 oil companies sa buong mundo pero di man lang magbigay ng pakunswelo puro na lang profits nila ang binibilang!

Walang kinalaman si GMA sa pagbagsak ng dollar. The greenback is fundamentally weak. Why? Maraming utang, print lang ng print ng pera hindi naka peg sa gold, marami ng utang binabaan pa ang interest ng Feds. Magpapatuloy ito hanggang sa hehehe hindi ko alam. Ang reserba po ng BSP ay nasa $20B lamang kaya mali din isipin na ang Php natin ay malakas actually mahina ito. Hehehe. "Lumakas" lang yan dahil sa ang dollar talaga ay mahina. Walang kinalaman dyan si GMA at hindi ganun ka significant ang OFW $ inflows natin sa paglakas ng piso.

Actually para sa kanila somehow may positive effect ito. Noong bumagsak ang value ng $, people tend to buy US products dahil sa superior service and quality and at the same time mas cheap sya ngayon. Besides that, sila na ngayon ang World's Most Competitive Economy.

Yap may point ka din...wala talaga tayong magagawa sa ngayon kundi magsumikap magsumikap at magsumikap...hayyyy...hopefully someday maka cope up tayong mga OFW...

I appreciate all your inputs here. I am just a little bit concerned with other OFW'S who earn below 500 dollars a month, with all the sacrifices that they are undertaking and to give a decent living for their families. They are deprived again as the peso gains against dollar. You might as well know that an average income to have a deccent family in our country must be atleast 25 thou a month depending on how many children that they have.

Let's say a year ago when the peso was still more than 50 a dollar, 500 dollars would be 25 thou pesos then. So a lot of Pilipino took this opportunities. They went abroad and grabbed the opportunity to have a good house that hey can afford. How can this OFW's who earned 500 dollars below pay their monthly amortization's when their hard earned money went down. How could they put up a good business? They could hardly squeeze their budget. Lets just give a break for these new OFW'S to taste their hard earn money.

Ok let say the peso will go back to 20=1. 500 dollars would be 10 thou only. for sure OFW's will go home, because it is not worth anymore to work abroad. Can our government give 80% of 8 million OFW's a job? I don't think so.

I am not crying with this politician and our present government. I am just knocking and give them a wake up call that they have an obligations with these people whom the call a modern hero that helps the country afloat. Or atleast show us lift eh living conditions of middle class family, who are paying taxes for their salary.

Do you think our country is prospering now a days? Its getting worst, we are almost like Nigeria. We are in top 10 most corrupt country and No. 1 in Asia. And to top it all, our president right now is the no. 1 corrupt president amongst Pres. Marcos, Pres. Ramos, Pres. Estrada and Pres. Aquino. I hope this is only a hearsay but we are almost there.

Yes, you are all right. We OFW's are the ones affected by the appreciation of peso against the dollar. Not only us, but mostly the poor Filipinos. Only the businessmen, politicians and the very rich are gaining from the weakening of dollars.

In other countries the price of gasoline is more expensive but their country is stable. WHY??? For sure because their government is taking care of them. I am not saying that malaysia is not corrupt but I've seen how Malaysia developed.

Let us push these politicians to do their part and take this opportunity that we OFW's are suffering.

AFAIK, the World Monetary Fund/World Bank/International Labor Organization etc.joined together, at may provision na sinisunod regarding sa salary caps [at least certain amount]for OFW's around the world, depending on your
job description/skills even to those proffessionals in nature and country of origin.Lets say kung British scientest ka at hired to work in Dubai, off course mataas ang fee mo
dahil galing at educated ka sa UK,compairing sa mga pinoy scientests din, i'm talking about to those who earned low salary income in USD thats why they're complaining sa palitan pero yung mga individuals na ang kita in USD ay malaki, hindi nila iniinda itong pag baba ng value.
All countries/government/presidents can do nothing about these problem...
Sa totoo lang maunlad ang pamumuhay namin ngayon compaired noon[i sent three nephews/nieces to college today]...during erap's time,may pag-agam-agam ang mga businessmen/foreign
investors than today and it's a fact...
