Medyo mahina diesel niya. 72 bhp lang. Yung gas naman 100 bhp (same as Pajero 2.5TDi) pero malakas sa gas dahil carb.
Parts availability is pretty good since share sila ng piyesa ng mga Nissan Pick-ups.
Ok siya. It was called the 'sports cars of SUV's' by Car & Driver magazine during its time. Ganda daw ng handling.

thanks a lot guys, i did not know na carb pa pala yung gas version, kaya pala malakas daw sa gas...mas practical sguro ung diesel.....arb, ganda ng terrano mo, wer u in fairview area mga last week? saw one similar your terrano ganda din...thanks guys.
bwn: The terrano in the pic is owned by my cousin in Bacolod. Nasa bacolod yung terrano.
thats not mine, sa cousin ni wiretap_md.
naka turbo na lang, so mas malakas kay sa ibang terrano na n/a. it can keep up with other 4wd's sa highway. so i guess ok na ang power basta may turbo.
The D-Series Terrano retailed for 1.1M ata during the day, pero we managed to get one for 800k bnew back in 97.
The gas version isnt really quick, but it handled quite nicely, in retrospect.
Things to be wary about.... brakes and interior trim. Di ko masyado gusto fit and finish ng Universal Motors. Yung preno, palitan mo ng Hydrovac na pang Patrol, solved lahat ng braking probs mo.
gas guzzler, btw.
thanks everybody! might as well set my sights sa diesel version, guzzler pala ung gas engine, learned a lot na from here already.
Just be wary that the diesel version isnt that fast though if you're used to the turbo diesel we have nowadays. Its a 2.7L diesel (same as in the Frontier 4x2 M/T) and from experience with the Frontier, its a pretty good engine. Check the units you look at for smoke emissions, this can tell how well maintained the vehicle was since the TD27 that are maintained regularly dont have much black smoke emissions.
The TD27 is already taxed trying to carry a Frontier. I don't know how much more taxed it will feel lugging around a Terrano with a heavy 4x4 system.

thanks for the diesel info, pero re practicality, diesel na siguro...i jas hope i can find a good deal....thanks to all!
2nd hand diesels are far more expensive than their gas counterparts....
pajerokid, wat do u mean diesels being more expensive than the gas ones, in terms of maintenance? or the resale value of the vehicle itself? thanks.
I think what pajerokid meant was the resale value, since mas in-demand yung diesel-engine suvs than gas-fed ones
whats with the lying down snorkel? diba papasukin yun ng h20? hehe :D
the intake hole is on the bottom of the snorkel tip, facing downward.
