    To all B-13'ers especially:
Just acquired one (eccs '94) from my brother ( 3 months pa lang )..
Pls give me some feedbacks on what should i do with my eccs to get it into Tough condition again..Kasi whenever i'm running it for about an hour, (expressway,100-120kph w/aircon)medyo tumataas engine temp ko reaching 3/4 sa gauge..but it goes down when i slowed down (or lower rev)..Sa gabi di ko pa na-experience tumaas temp niya kahit medyo traaffic (with aircon).
Only yesterday(city driving,semi-traffic) that i have experienced it na talagang progressive yung pagtaas ng temp niya kasi tanghali and super init.Di bumababa temp niya kahit patay na aircon ko and low rev na.FYI before i left home, nag check ako ng radiator plus the reservoir..puno naman(not using coolant).
Help naman pls..is it my cooling system that have problem? or my computer box perhaps?By the way tama lang po ba fuel consumption nit0? it only reaches about 5-7km/liter (city), about 10km/liter sa highway (all with aircon).
    Tnx po sa mga magre-reply!
    More power Tsikoters!!

You might want to have the radiator checked for clogged interior. I used to have a B13 and I did experience the same problem.

Also with the radiator fan motors and water pump, if they are still turning at the factory rated speed.

Make sure there isn't a bubble of air trapped inside the radiator water system because it would prevent water from circulating properly.

Avoid using too much coolant mixture because it lowers the amount of heat water can carry.

Try mong pa-overhaul yung radiator. Then check mo kung yung aux fan ay gumagana at malakas pa ang ikot.

Have the radiator drained and flushed then add a coolant/water mix. Have items like the thermistor and thermostat checked and replaced if necessary (shouldnt cost too much).

Another common problem with EFI engines of that age would be idling problems (divebomb idle, erratic idle, etc.) so you may want to have your intake manifold opened up and cleaned along with the AAC (air actuator control - tama ba?), PCV (your mechanic can clean these two with carb cleaner), and have a knowledgeable mechanic clean your MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor (its the one right after the air filter box) with some electric contact cleaner and reground if necessary (you can check on google the procedures of regrounding your MAF). If its (the MAF) not calibrated, the best way is to go to the CASA or to a shop with an analyzer to check the specs of all your sensors. IF your spark plug wires are also old, replace them with a new, original set and get a tune-up done (change plugs and adjust timing).

i've had my b13 since 1992 and had a very few engine temp problems over the years. all my temp-related problems are caused by:

    1. defective radiator cap - the rubber gasket of the radiator cap has already worn-off

solution: bought a new radiator cap - P150.00

    2. fan motor busted - fan does not rotate at top speed (you'll notice that one of the fans may not be running, or may be running slower than the other)

solution: replaced radiator fan motor with a new one - new fan motor costs around P1,000

    3. water pump worn out - the water pump circulates water from the radiator to the engine and vice versa. a worn out water pump results in water loss (usually malakas ang tagas sa ilalim ng makina)

solution: replaced water pump with a new one - new water pump costs around P1,200

    4. radiator leaks - a pressure test done by radiator shops can easily detect a radiator leak. a radiator overhaul is needed to re-seal gaps between the radiator tubings and the copper covers, as well as close-out corroded radiator tubings.

solution: radiator overhaul - costs anywhere from P1,200 to P1,500, depending on the degree of corrosion or laki ng butas.

You also need to check your Bypass hoses which can be found at the back portion of your engine. There are small and mid sized hoses that might be leaking. Water will only start to drip once you're engine is at normal temp... due to the water pressure that builds up inside your block....You will never notice it as the water drops it evaporates quickly due to intensive heat of the engine.... check those hoses or you might end up overheating the car...

Salamat guys sa mga very informative tips..I'm sure maraming makikinabang dito...
Actually ok na ulit yung sentra ko..It's the radiator hose leak that caused the problem (na-o-overlooked ko kasi whenever i opened the hood, the engine is not running, he he).Luckily, madali lang makita yung area ng leak. But im still planning to have a thorough cleaning/check-up maintenance for the whole cooling system pag may time na ko para sureball..

Tnx also to you Sir Vinj:Actually, the idling problem (Unstable) that
is my other concern that im about to ask.Buti nasagot nyo na po.Ayos!
Kaya lang paano kaya pag nagbago idling(tumaas) after doing the maintenance procedure (AAC,PCV,AMF)?Would the engine (with the computer box's aid)compensate for this after some time normalizing the idling eventually? Or should it be brought to the casa for some adjustment using a computer box analyzer?

I also have a Nissan B-13. For idling issues after having my engine top overhauled, I went to the casa and have the computer box calibrated. Mechanic cannot calibrate ECCS properly. Must use the Casa's system diagnostic tool.
Cost me P1,200. OH well..after 1 year, still runs perfectly.

If the idling goes up, just google the procedure to adjust it accordingly or drop by the CASA to have them set in the base settings using the CONSULT computer.

Suggestions Pls! with my B-13 (eccs)
