Help on brakes mga boss. I have a 2003 Nissan Exalta (N16).
There are rust-like powder stains on my left-front wheels. Mukhang nang-gagaling sa brakes. I have them serviced in Mantrade-Pasong Tamo... ayun! both wheels na yung nagma-marka ng pula. Normal po ba ito?

Normal. It's brake dust. The brake pads get used up and turn into "dust" and sometimes sticks to the wheels.

Just remember to clean it often. If not, the brake dust can stick to the wheels.

Yup, that's normal especially if you are using the more street-oriented (as opposed to sportier) type of brake pads.

I'd rather have the brake pads wearing (and becoming dust) than the brake rotors getting scored or warped by very hard pads.

It can differ greatly depending on if your car is M/T or A/T and on the driver's habits.

I agree, kaya nga medyo alalay lang ako ngayon sa aking GS A/T...

OT: Prevalent ang brake dust dito at ang balita ay palit daw ng front brake pads on the average, 20KKm (sa sobrang bigat ng ride at diesel A/T pa...)....
