May 11th, 2010 07:13 PM #1Help on brakes mga boss. I have a 2003 Nissan Exalta (N16).
There are rust-like powder stains on my left-front wheels. Mukhang nang-gagaling sa brakes. I have them serviced in Mantrade-Pasong Tamo... ayun! both wheels na yung nagma-marka ng pula. Normal po ba ito?

normal lang yan brakedust. linisin mo lang paglamig ng brakes and mags mo kasi makapit yan. may brakepads na mas madami magproduce ng dust. baka nagpalit ka ng bagong set

generally more brake dust means less rotor wear\better braking performance yun lang nga palagi madumi tingnan mags mo

Yup, that's normal especially if you are using the more street-oriented (as opposed to sportier) type of brake pads.
I'd rather have the brake pads wearing (and becoming dust) than the brake rotors getting scored or warped by very hard pads.
