    the patrol 2wd has the front differential is locked already, if you notice the flange in the front turns when you run the car. so in effect if you wont add the locking hubs its still ok since permanent locked na ito and you wont notice much difference in fuel consumption or drivability since it has been locked since brand new.

    kapag naka locked it doesnt mean naka engage ka na ng 4WD, naka link lang ang front wheels in lieu kapag nag engage ka ng 4wd,

    teka "part time 4wd" ang patrol di ba?

    wala akong idea sa internals ng front hubs ng patrol, pero anong ginamit na pang lock sa front hubs ng mga 2wd patrols? hindi kaya madaling masira ito kapag nag-apply ng power kapag naka 4wd na?

    nope, it will act like a direct drive 4wd, just like the WWII jeeps, if you notice the front hubs looks the same, the Land rovers, early LC40. those times the front locking hub is not in fashion.

    since my hubs have been always locked, if i'll be putting free wheeling hubs and set it to free, will i get better mileage?

    syet ang sarap ng naka 4wd! just tried it a while ago, sa likod ng shop ng friend ko may bagong tambak na mga lupa at buhangin. i intentionally drove in 2H para mabalahaw yung rear wheels hanggang sa ayaw ng umabante. shifted to 4H, medyo hirap pa rin, then 4L, parang wala lang. parang hindi nabalahaw!

    tomorrow, we'll be going to a plantation na puro soft muds naman. :D bago ko ipa wax before the new year!
