hello, xtrail owners, just want to know if ud notice na parang nabibigla or jerky ang pag accelerate from a complete standstill...found out na wala pala direct link ang accel pedal to engine throttle ang xtrail, minsan kasi nabibigla...ganun kaya talaga?
ganun nga siguro pag drive by wire, pag heavy footed ka parang nag jajackrabbit pag accelerate from complete stop...was thinkin of inquirin sa nissan kaso baka lang mapasama pa, am sure wala pa sila experience dun. anyway, sanayan lang siguro.
The advantage of drive by wire is that it allows precise movements in acceleration since the ECU reads the input from the pedal directly. Mechanical considerations such as "play" between the components are eliminated.
I have two people with xtrails who both experienced problems identified to a defective wire harness. After much emergency meeting daw by Nissan people, it was concluded not as a design defect but supplier defect. I failed to ask them what happened that was connected to the wire harness. Anyone know what this wire harness is for? Would this be related to the accelerator issue in this thread?
We have the 200X (I was not able to convince my wife to get the limited edition Pajero) and yes I experience the same situation on our xtrail. You have to step on the brakes sometimes to slow it down. I was assuming it was because of the 2.0 engine kasi our other cars are just 1.6. How is your consumption? I can only get 5Km/lt on our extrail.
paul, 200x din ung amin, medyo lakas nga sya sa gas, havent measured it though, kainis nga nissn, we got it for 1.190 then after amonth bigla bagsak presyo, lugi kami almost 150t in a month!....altec, any more info re that wire harness? alam na kaya nila sa casa yun? baka manghula lang kasi sila pag pinaadjust ko.
The 5 km/l I posted is city driving. Twice ko na sinukat. I reset my trip meter when I filled up tapos after a week I fill up again when the orange light on the dash board comes on. Mga 250-260 km ang nasa trip meter. When I fill up the pump comes to 51-52 liters. Di ko pa na sukat hignway kasi when we brought it to sto. tomas last saturday gapang din sa SSH.
Just came from West Gate Alabang for my 1K service, meron na silang new colors aside from the old red, silver and green. New colors are black, white and sort of light blue.
Question:
Can you keep the wheels on 4wd without breaking anything on the car? Sa vitara kasi the manual specifically states something like use 4wd only on loose gravel/sand/mud.
paul1::: It is not advisable to use the 4WD system on paved roads. Differentials could cause binding effect inreturn damages either your axles, ring gears or transfer case.
You could try to ease of the gas pedal when driving an auto tranny and let the vehicle roll on its own pace to save you some gas consumption.
The wire harness I mentioned about is different from the accelerator issue here. The Xtrail engine stalled, as in namatay in the middle of the road and won't start. It was towed back to Nissan. Their findings was an electrical defect due to a defective wire harness locally made by yazaki torres. Pinalitan na lang nila, di daw yan design defect. Unfortunately, another unit ganun din ang nangyari, so two units na both wire harness problems.
