Original pa ba ang transmission mo?..... Talagang makupad humatak ang Vanette bro.... Lalo na sa paakyat, halos walang power,- kaya alagaan mo na lang kung nasaan kang kambyo at kumuha ka ng buwelo sa susunod na paakyat...

OT: Our Vanette have experienced the likes of Baguio (Marcos Hiway at Kennon Road), Banaue via Nueva Ecija/Viscaya mountain pass, Pagsanjan-Cavinti-Majayjay-Luisiana-Lucban zigzag roads, Famy-Real, Quezon mountain roads, Antipolo-Teresa-Montalban mountain roads et al. I tell you, it's a surreal feeling driving the Vanette on these mountain (zigzag) roads....

Kailangang medyo i-rev mo ng husto bago ka mag-shift to get the desired power and speed.... Again, it's a different style driving this vehicle.... And, it's worth it.....

Iyong nanginginig ang makina kapag naka A/C.... Does this happen even if the engine is already in its operating temp? O, kakabukas pa lang?... If the former, ask a tech to adjust your idling RPM...

Engine overhaul,- I don't think so, unless there are traces of oil in your engine....

It could just be tune up (spark plugs, contact point, condenser). I suggest that you use original Nissan parts. At, baka kailangan lang na i-advance mo ng kaunti ang timing. I suggest that you have it checked by a reliable mechanic....

OT: Isa pa nga palang na-conquer ng aming Vanette ay iyong Bitukang Manok sa Quezon... And during those mountain road drives, practically, puno ang sasakyan (>8 persons)... I still love driving this van better than our second 2004 van....

ok yung 99 model na vanette or what they call the grand coach. . . wala na cyang overheating problem just like mine. . . kasi tama na yung position ng condenser. . .

Hi, just want to share. my vanette spews white smoke a few weeks ago. I had it checked and my mechanic suggested to check the piston rings as he was certain the problem emanates from there. he was 100% correct. Had it overhauled and I love how it drives now.

I need to check my front shocks also but I can't seem to find them.
pls help me locate these shocks. I'm planning to try the KYB gas.

Guys i've just acquired my Nissan vanette and i'm starting to re-condition it but DIY na lang sana sa mga pwede DIY. I've just recover the AC, so OK na yung AC nya. My next move is to change the air filter, clean the spurplug, clean carb then change oil then adjust the idling... any one here known a site for the engine of vanette or anyone can teach me where's the idling adjustment located.. hope to here soon..thanks a lot

dun sa ilalim ng carburetor nya adjust ung idling.turnilyo lng un na my spring.mgpalit ka ng fuel filter na dn.caue un kc ng sinisinok.o kya kulang sa fuel.dun nkalagay un sa ilalim ng baterya.iilalim k tlaga bgo momatangal.

I agree that this may probably be causing it. Mukhang natso-choke ang paglabas ng gasolina.....

gud am.ung adjustment ng carburator idling nya ay sa ilalim dn ng carburador my maliit na screw type na my spring.un ang adjustment nya.and mgpalit k ng kontact point.dun nkalagay sa my distributor nya.my technic ang pg adjust ng contact point nyan.kelangan my siwang ung tip to tip nya ng contact point

Just found out this morning that Caltex now offers only Gold (pure gasoline) and E10 Silver... Nawala na ang Silver (pure gasoline)....

Anyway, Gold naman ang pinakakarga ko sa Vanette....

galing ako ilocos kanina, so bago kami nag-byahe pina-check ko pang-ilalim ng van andami na daw papalitan...rack end, bushing, tire rod etc etc. quote nila sa kin is 22k (parts and labor!), mga sir ganito ba talaga ang presyuhan ngayon?

d ako agree sa vanet n advise,una matagtag,matakaw sa gasolina.mahina preno,sirain ang aircon,tpos pg luma na tlaga miinit sa pwet,dahil nan dun ung makina.madalas mgbaba taas ng idle.and ung fuel filter nya pg d mo pinalitan.ititigil ka s gitna ng kalsada.nkakadisgrasya.un lng po/.

More than the concern on fuel efficiency, Vanettes, particularly for models 1993-1995, were problematic due to OVERHEATING issues (no radiator shroud). But if the one you're looking at is a 1998 model, that should be already fine.

Again, a trusted technician's opinion is suggested prior to any purchase. Better to be safe than sorry bro.
