    Hi,

The fuel level indicator is erratic. Sometimes it will go up and indicate that it's full (but I'm pretty sure it's not) and right now it doesn't respond much and stays near the empty level. My friend suggests to have the float checked, which he says will take a lot of work because the tank has to be disassembled and so. Is there an easier way to fix this?

aside from the floater, you can also have the sensor checked muna... baka nandun lang..
pero there is no other easier method to do that, talagang baba ang tangke...

pero, imho, di naman ganung kahirap yun ah.... drain tank, onting kalas-kalas lang sa ilalim, dismount the tank and check/replace the floater, mount and balik yung gas.

kung ipapaayos mo, make sure na lang na yung tank mo is the near empty level.... it would also give you time and opportunity to have the tank cleaned na din siguro.

Hmm tantiya ko me 8 liters pa, I've have it checked and update this thread of the outcome. Thanks for the suggestion, sensor muna then floater.

if memory serves me right, i believe access to the fuel sending unit is just under the rear seat. remove the rear seat, and you will see the cover of the access hole to the fuel tank under it... but be sure your battery is disconnected! baka mag-spark and ... heh heh..
but truthfully speaking (sa totoo lang), i don't remember.. sa dami kasi ng rear seats na kinutingting namin... sorry... senior moments..
but i think it's easier to inspect the sending unit / float, than to gain access to the gauge..

Kahapon umangat ulit yung gauge up to middle level, baka nga corrosion.

unti-unti talaga ang pag-akyat niyan. many cars do..
