Methanol Injection : Alcohol Injection : Water Injection : DevilsOwn You can click on his link here. And I have a big thread on it in the engine section of Tsikot.

I use a Magnafine inline filter for my van. you get 10 micron filteration plus it has a very strong magnet on the inside that catches all the debri in your system.
This is what you want to get if you really want your transmission to last. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FILTER IN LINE 5/16 8mm BRAND NEW IN STOCK UK | eBay

It goes on the return line after the transmission oil cooler and are good for 30000 miles.

Also switching to Dex V made a night and day difference on how the van shifted and drove.

    Hi dvldoc,

I bought the filter from ebay. I will let you know later If I get it fixed to the return line. If you would be kind enough to point me which one of them 3 I have to use will be awesome?

The alcohol injection will definitly do it sometime next year in summer once I save the money. I got a quote from them and I will be more than happy to do it.

Dex V has not been easy to get in UK. After searching many shop I bought Dex III from a dealer but quality looks okey to my hopefully better transmission quality than the dealer.

I am please with the replys and thank you very much for your help. I got many more question the van had many issues when I got it but step by step is been fixed if I cant I will post a new threat.
    Thank you! God bless you!

One more problem which I am going to fix. I need to get a new fuel filter water sensor, my one has a damage issue and by accident I broke the cable.
Hopefully I will get a second hand from the crap yard or buy a new one instead.

    Hi readers,

I got a replacement for my fuel filter water sensor. Cost me £32.98.
Hopefully I will get it by tuesday next week.
The engine light was on but its was due to the thermostat which was too old and doesnt work properly but with the new one its all good and engine somehow its much smoother.
Now I got to see why my self locking door doesnt work. Door its not electric but I think my 1997 got a seft loking mechanism.

What id the difference of a nissan elgrand 1997 nismo? My van has the body kit but front bumper has been cut by previous owner. Any ideas or I am wrong?

The return line is the line on the right with the arrows going up and to the right. Really no Nismo Elrand. Mine has nismo badges that's about it. But I added all the Nismo badges to mine.

There is a relay that can go bad for the soft touch than can easily be replaced. Also I silicon lube every moving surface on my van regularly all the door joints, sliding door, hinges ect. The rail track the door follows the soft touch pieces ect. Pretty sure I have pics of that thing on here. If not I just put a ton of tech diagrams on elgrandclubph.

    Hi dvldoc,

Thnz for the advice I will silicone lube the moving parts too.
I will check if the relay is bad also but where will it be located?

Please add me to the facebook friend list, my request has not been acceptted yet.
If you have the work shop manual, would be great if I get a copy or sell it to me. My email is dennispros1*hotmail.co.uk.
I will keep you update if anything happens.

    All the best doc!

Hey Dvldoc, my van doesnt have the self closing door. If I buy the part will it fit my 1997? Or will not work, I am checking the sliding door to see if I get the space to fit it.
I just found a 1999 elgrand and the safe closing mechanism is on sale.

Well it's not really self closing, Almost all Elgrands should have them soft close, it just pulls the the door closed, same for the rear hatch unless it's not working.

If you remove the plastic step at the door entrance and there is nothing there then you don't have it. On the rear hatch you will see a black magnet looking thing on the left that's the soft close.

Most of the time it's the fuse or the microswitch has gone bad.

    Hello Dvldoc,

The information is greatly apreciated. I am more than pleased with your help, thank you very much for sharing you knowledge.
I have learned a lot. Tomorrow I will check the fuses first. Because is christmas my oil catch can and new cold air mod hasnt arrived yet. I got a long way to get the van back in perfect order. This weekend I will replaced the transmission fluid, filter and install the extra filter you recomended.
By the way the van sound a lot better with the 2t oil.

    Kind regards
    Dennis

No problem, that's what I do.

I am looking forward to getting back to my van soon as well. Got some new stuff to install and plan on getting a downpipe done since I am maxed out on 23psi of boost,

I also have a full diagram of the soft close system on this page.

Does anyone know what this light is. It's for the 4wd system. One member is trying to figure it out and I have no clue since I don't have a 4wd Elgrand. The all mode is in the 2wd position but the light is on.

Looking at doing a Elgrand club day event at Berrima Diesel in the first few weeks of March. I will post details once I hear back from Berrima diesel. Trying to set up a discount for 2 dyno pulls so you can see where your van is on power.. I will also have manual boost controllers with me in-case anyone wants a little bit more power for their Elgrand. The QD32eti is really happy at 15psi vs the stock 12 and you will get a much faster spool with the boost controller.

I will also be able to scan your vehicle via laptop and the ECUtalk software this can save lots on mechanical work with guessing what's causing a problem, I can also read and clear and codes, check to see if your MAF is functioning properly and log the data and email it to you as well. (FREE OF CHARGE!)

As well as Gates and Goodyear ALT, Power steering and AC belts for both the ZD30 and QD32eti.

Cheap China made belts or old factory ones can leave your stranded. Don't let this happen to you.

I removed the entire assembly and placed plates on each end. Had the machinist fabricate MAF adaptor as well.

You now need disable the swirl valve. I will think I am going to go that route as well and take off the whole assembly versus the hard to reach tube on the drivers side of the engine.

    Stock hose routing

    Disable

I am going to check if that butterfly valve is held by screws and remove the whole stupid thing.

Also if you want a nicer looking MAF adaptor hit me up when I am back next week.
Think I have 1 or 2 left. Mine are stainless steel coated with rust proofing paint then coated with 1500F paint.
