I would get it cleaned for sure, as i suspected you also had water in your fuel tank, the mud is the big issue, that can clog up your pump and injectors. I would highly suggest Berimma diesel for this service.

Doc,
I will do it for sure. I researched berrima diesel and found out their address is at mandaluyong city. Would it be alright to bring the van again there despite the problems its having right now? Thanks again for your help.
Hi Guys,
Need URGENT advice.
Just got back from Pililla Rizal and when i reached Taytay i smelled burning rubber on front wheels. I touched the driver side front wheel rim and it was very very hot and the burning rubber smell i think came from there. Did the same thing on the Passenger side front wheel and that too was very hot.
I looked at the rotors and i see a bluish color on the rotors. this usually looks silvery right?
Hope someone can advise me on what is wrong and how can i have this repaired so that when i get to the repair shop i wont get a hit and miss advise from the mechanics.
For info the brake pads are new and just had my wheel bearings replaced a couple of months back..
Thanks so much
Get your brake system check. Seem's like na master ang problem kasi both front & back are locked, meaning hindi nag retrack yung mga brake pads mo thus continues naka close while your driving. You should have noticed na hirap ang makina mo & an increase in engine temp.
Are you sure you got the hand brake released while your driving ?
Dear Mac,
thanks for the immediate reply although i was not able to update you guys about what i did after this. So, I did what you advised had the brake system checked. and had my calipers cleaned and lubricated. there was some rust found there. but the mechanics said the pistons were moving easily so that meant the calipers were "probably" not sticking. next thing they did was checked the master and bled the brake fluid. oh, just an after thought the rear wheels were ok.. actually i dont have rear wheel brakes.. my foot brake isnt working. i bought the van with the foot brake not working later found out the cables are cut. have to replace them if i can find a source.
i havent gone on a long trip after that. so i havent experienced the burnt rubber smell yet. however i remember what the mechanic said.. did you use engine brake while going up and downhill antipolo? now this is something i have to think about... i think i was using my brakes too much on those 45 degree inclines in antipolo up and downhill... fyi.. the van is my first automatic transmission car..
anyway,, thanks so much guys for reading my post and replying.. i learn each time i read this thread...
i love this van.. its a luxury ride i would want to experience for a reasonably long time....
Hi guys,
got my elgrand fixed by goodyear yesterday. aircon now is good as new. replaced rear aircon blower. replaced alternator and battery and put lock/bracket for battery. unstable idling has now been fixed and battery indicator blinking issue as well. The only one left is the hard starting. Is still under observation. Will check later if it's still hard to start the engine after replacing the glow plugs.
Lost blinkers on my hazard lights and my turning lights, any idea where to look for the flasher? Having a hard time finding it.
Hello fellow Elgranders, newbie here. I have a ZD30 model that recently seem to flash the check engine sign on the panel. I had the MAF sensor cleaned but after a few days the check engine indicator lights again. Do you think my MAF sensor is nearing it's end? I had a new air filter installed to improve on the air intake but to no avail the problem kept recurring. I also noticed that when i rev and reach around 3,000 rpm the POWER symbol lights up and the engines slows down. I have also replaced the glow plugs to be safe. Are there rev limiters for this model from Japan? I know i have asked one too many questions but after reading through the entire thread I was so impressed with the volume of people who pour in suggestions that I braved to ask for some help. Hoping that someone may be able to give me some ideas on how to solve my problem. Thanks in advance.![]()
Loss of power too? Doc had the same problem and one other elgrand owner, and yes, they had to change the maf. The power light of my ride lights up when I floor the accelerator going up hill, so the tranny shifts to power mode. Probably same with your ride bud.

That was my hunch on account of the similarities in the case of master dividoc. How much do you think is a new MAF sensor and where oh where may i find one?I read in the elgrand australia forum about the tranny shifting down to a lower gear when you floorkick the accelerator pedal. I guess that must be the reason why the POWER lights up. Thank you for your reply.
Most of the time once the MAF is dead it's Dead. You will have to get a new one, It controls the fueling on the engine and a bad one can causes serious damage. The part number is 226807S000 expect to pay around 17000P to 20000p for a new one from the dealer.
You can get them in the states as cheap as 42USD. You could email them to see if they will ship Fedex or DHL. That's what I did.
Nissan Infiniti Mass Air Flow Sensor Meter MAF New | eBay
For the guy with the locked brakes I would check the rear wheel cylinders. They could be bad and will cause this. It's a cheap part to replace. The Urvan has the same part as well. It's located by the rear brakes.

*dvldoc Sir, is it possible to have a Nissan Elgrand Club? hehe. You will be the president just in case![]()
Thank you very much fir the replay.
I already send you a friend request 3 days ago.
I also downloaded the PDF safety manual thats why I want to buy the oil catch can.
I will follow your step dvldoc. I will also replace the air box with an upgrade.
Everything you have recomended on your post are been follwed by me.
I live in UK but original from southamerica.
2T oil is been filled up everytime I go to the petrol station.
Isopropyl alcohol is probing hard to find on the shop. Also the MAF sensor cleaner is not sold on the big shop. Fortunally I got them from ebay.
Thank you very much profesor. My mechanic knowledges are poor but I allways do the jobs myself.
I read that the transmition filter is washable.
It is true? Here in UK takes up to 5 weeks to wait for the part been delivered. Also I been told by nissan dealer that there are 3 filter which we need to replace, one which is the normal one and 2 more are really small. The 2 small filters are washable too according to the nissan mechanic.
If you recomen me to buy new one I will do it?
I got many more question but I will not ask any more. First I changed the oil fluid and this week I will replace the trans fluid, diff fluid and fuel filter.
After reading so many post my air hose was broken too were you pointed on the picture. No wonder why it was consuming a lot of petrol and 8 owners in less than 4 years decided to sell the car. Insurance is not cheap and drinks a lot of petrol but some like me will be a peace of cake looking after my new bless from heaven.
Thank dvldoc for your kidness and be blessed in the name of Jesus Crist.
Yes it is. It's simply a screen it's only around 200 microns. Unless it's physically damaged you can re-use it. My Elgrand gets awesome mpg of course I have a few more mods than you. By they way if you ever wanted to do water injection I have a vendor in the UK.
Sure why not :-) how and where do I see someone? Will be cool to see how the water sistem works.
How much will it cost?
I live in london close to heathrow airport.
If you like give me the address details.
Tomorrow I may change the transmission filter and wash the filter of course.
