All about Nissan Serena [merged]

Hi guys! we're planning to buy a nissan serena model 2002.. any comments/feedback po sa car nato? maganda ba siya in terms of ride, maintenance, etc. thanks po sa mga reply..

Kung local, may problems yata yung first batch na AT (this is secondhand from the workers at the casa, waaaaay back in 01 or 02)... but that's about all I know. Parts won't be as widespread as they would be for more common vehicles, but they shouldn't be impossible to find at Nissan specialists... kaya lang kung mga CV Joints and the like, you might have to have them ordered from the plant or Japan.

Gas consumption... typical, just as bad as CUVs. Ride and handling are pretty good. Medyo nasisikipan lang ako sa caha niya, but otherwise, it's okay.

Thanks for the reply sir niky, sir otep. local po siya. actually i'm havng second thoughts of buuying this unit but my wife likes it very much. in fact i just called her now and she already paid for it! (nasa china po ako ngayon). shocks concern ako sa sinabi mo sir niky about the parts sana naman di siya sirain.. by the way po, safe po kayang ipabaklas yung aircon sa labas? kasi daw nagpasok yung anak ko ng coin sa vent ng aircon, ngayon nag raratle daw pag umaandar. sobrang kulit kasi ng kid ko

Don't worry too much about the parts, meron namang mga Nissan specialists sa Banaue, baka meron na sila para sa Serena. Remember, yung info ko tungkol dito is about five years old already.

There are aircon shops that can do that job.... not a big problem. Let's wait for OTEP or the others on that, di ako familiar sa mga shops sa Manila.

Madami parts yan pero brand new. Bihira pa sa surplus. Suki ko sa Nissan parts ay si Youngbros. and Yen sa banawe. Ok yang van na yan pati interior materials na ginamit ng Nissan. parang nasa malaki kang Sentra Grandeur pag nasa loob ka niyan. Seat is comfortable yun nga lang di masyado malapad caha ng serena sabi nga ni Niky. Fuel consumption is quite malakas, siyempre medyo malaki kaha. But not as worst as Nissan Vanette before grabe talaga yun lumamon ng gas. Ingatan mo sa sasakyan na yan is yung control ng aircon (Auto Climate kasi yan), baka mabasa or matusok ng makulit mong kid. Ok lang pagawa aircon nian sa labas, kung ako tatanungin mo kung saan ok, sa may E.Rod. Cubao before pumanik ng Cubao Edsa, mura mag pagawa ng air con dun kasi sila mismo ang mga suppliers ng aircon shop sa Banawe.

thanks sir jcastillo.. its been awhile.. pero salamat po sa lahat i really enjoyed this van.. pero tama po kayo, sira na yung aircon dahil sa anak kong makulit.. usually pag on ng aircon.. lalakas yung fan para sa auto climate yun diba po? anyway, hindi na siya lumalakas ngayon kasi pinag lalaruan daw kasi ng anak ko.. and sabi ng wife ko minsan they opened the hood to check daw yung water sa gas station.. and they noticed na nagyeyelo daw yung tubes.. and they noticed that this onely happens pag medyo umiinit yung aircon.. help po ulit mga sir.. ano po kaya sira nito? thanks po ng marami..

pros lang niya is bago na ang engine from SR20DE to a much better QR25DE engine( same engine ng top of line x-trail)

this month, i saw two new serena.. bago din pala ang tail gate nun.. actually ok naman ang porma.. if i would recall, yung sliding door ata nya is electronic.. however, the electronic function will only work if you close the door.. Not sure about it.

oo nga.. dapat DVD na ang nilagay ng NMPI... Siguro naman sa taiwan hindi na uso ang VCD...

anyone, may alam ba kayo na tindahan ng REPSOL ELITE 5W50 na langis dito sa P'que sa pasig lang kasi ako huling nakabili ng langis na ito eh, and maganda ang takbo ng Serena ko dito super tahimik ng engine at walang vibration di gaya ng CAstrol magnatec meron pang konti... thanks

Hi everyone. I bought a 2003 limited QRvr model and ever since I did a lot of troubles came to it. I had it overhauled and it stayed for 3 months in the shop for lack of available parts. When it was done, I sent it back after a few days for oil leaks, then atf leak, then aircon compressor noise, and now after 2 days without noise the tranny slipped. Call it like when it rains it pours!, but my worry now is I was told, not by the tranny shop but by another to just buy surplus tranny instead of overhauling it coz most would have trouble after. Please send advice, guys. I'm really at my wit's end here. Thanks a lot in advance.

Good day mga sir, we're planning to buy a nissan serena after reading this thread, mukang maganda talaga ang serena, good family van nga sabi nyo and comfortable talaga. Sad to say nga lang na di namin kaya bumili ng brand new, i'm located at olongapo city and we're planning to buy an imported one sa subic, but these car are from cagayan binabagsak and binebenta lang din dito. Ang budget po namin is only P250k. Ang price po dito is P300k ang asking neg naman po.
