If cash strapped and if you really really need a sedan car now, their is the Hyundai reina or kia soluto base models. These are better options though instead of a 1.2 almera.

Im just curious though, why almera? Do you like the looks?

[emoji28] i'd like to spend half of my disposable income on this car, without affecting my savings sana, also paying kasi for my house. in-house financing so definitely higher monthly amortization.. I dont have anybody else to ask kasi. thanks for your suggestions.. been looking around for other options but I really fell in love with the Almera(trunk space, leg room, ac), some of my options were

Seems your budget is on 650 to 700k.
How about base ertiga?
Try to compute your monthly by going next higher (750k ish). If not monthly is not that big of a difference, the ertiga is the better choice among them.

Ground clearance
Reasonable engine size
7 seats (you will never know when you need one)

The difference in performance from 1.2 to 1.5 should be a better choice for your route given that you have uphill stretches of road as part the daily needs. It is honestly superb in both passenger cabin space and trunk volume. But please check if the rear AC is actually fan only. I know when it originally launched, the Almera wasn't a dual AC car and only had rear fans (no cold air except what it can pull from the cabin). Don't know if the refresh changed this.

But Based on others in the the list, I'm assuming the budget is around 600k to 700k SRP. I'd personally include in the shortlist the following:

Volkswagen Santana 1.4 MPI MT ₱ 686,000
Max Output (HP) 89 hp * 5,500 rpm
Max Torque (nm) 132 Nm * 3,800 rpm

Kia Soluto 1.4 EX MT ₱ 685,000
Max Output (HP) 94 hp * 6,000 rpm
Max Torque (nm) 132 Nm * 4,000 rpm

The above two at least have better torque figures compared to the 1.2 Almera. So from a performance standpoint, I think they'd perform better during uphill climbs. I'm not considering much of the accessories here anymore but I do believe the Soluto offers the best bang for buck for what it has. Just that the main complaint I've read about it is the synthetic leather of the seats which would be hot if left out in the sun. But I'd say this is easily remedied by tints like Vkool OEM tints that you can order outside of casa or 3M Solar Tints that should cost you under 10k php to cover the whole car. Just find the tint that has heat rejection range of about 50 to 70% and it should fit within that price point. Any higher and it would be expensive and cost more than 10k (guesstimating) to cover all glass areas of the sedan/hatch.

These three below were not part of your original list but 2 are within budget, and the Ford is just a wild card option that I believe should perform the best and is in a similar price point with the 1.5 Almera, should you stretch your budget. Between the Vios and Brio Amaze, I prefer the Vios. Between the Vios and Fiesta, I prefer the Fiesta. I believe being an MT, you should have less of an issue mechanically with the Fiesta, plus it is not an Ecoboost engine.

Good luck in your purchase. And as long as the quote comes from the bank directly and not thru dealer, you should get the best deal with the lowest monthly amortization. The "benefits" of less hassle for all in insurance and chattel mortage for casa approved loans are still more expensive monthly based on my experience but you may still find a deal there that would suit your needs more.

Hi po sainyong lahat, Almost 1 month na rin ako naghahanap at nagtitingin tingin ng feedbacks tungkol sa iba't ibang brand at model ng sedan/hatch.
Before Honda City 3rd gen lang nasa list ko at mirage g4. 2nd hand lang po ang hinahanap ko kasi budget ko is around 300-350k.
Plano ko siyang i keep for 4-5 years siguro at 2 to 3 times a week ko siya magagamit siguro, kadalasan ako at gf ko lang ang sakay pero siguro may occasional na out of town trips with 5 persons including me.
nakita ko yung thread na to at nabasa ko na may good and bad points ang Nissan Almera, ngayon kasama na po siya sa list ko kasi nakapag drive po ako ng almera AT last week sobrang luwag nga po niya sa loob at ok ang AC niya. gusto ko lang po magtanong if worth it bang bumili ng bank repossessed na Almera??? or maghanap nlng ako ng private owned?
Kasi nagtitingin tingin ako at base sa nakita ko eh kaya kong makabili ng 2015 models or newer with my budget on hand.
Sobrang impressed kasi ako sa aircon at sa space niya, btw I'm rooting for AT para magamit din ng gf.

the problem with re-possessed bank cars, is, they are bankers, not mechanics. aside from ownership, they make no guarantees whatsoever, regarding the car's condition.. as-is-where-is sila. you'd be lucky if you can start the car, as some of them have dead batteries already. best to befriend the bodegeros who look over the bodega. they are in the better situation, to know which cars are "good"...

repo cars are a good source for bayan sellers who know how to size up a car.

and be very mindful of the price! make careful computations.
someone here said, "buying a re-posessed car is akin to buying used cars at brand-new prices".

Sa mga naka Almera na AT, what type of ATF did you use? Isa pa lang experience ko sa ATF change. Hyundai i10 we used sa Caltex na Dexron III. Not sure if anong klase for Almera. Thank you.
