Re this one, I still prefer SnR Unioil combo because it is more flexible for my use case as I'm not limited to gas station at Landers specifically, wherever I am. But I do know the discount Landers offers is a bit more than what SnR offers. Just that Caltex prices at landers is usually 1php to 2php more expensive than where I normally top up so the increased discount basically almost reverts back to become allmost-but-not-quite equal =)

I'm not knocking on Lander's discount. It is a convenient option, but I just don't shop there much, if at all.

But for 95 ron, currently, I've seen SRP Range at Unioil branches of 53.XXphp to 56.XXphp range., so with standard discount of SnR, I pay for 48.XX to 51.XX. What's funny with Unioil is usual price difference with 91 RON is around 1php lower. So, even if your car requires just 91RON, it seems pointless to opt for 91RON given than 95RON will cost less per liter with the SnR discount.

    Plus it is Euro 5

My two cents on the matter. =)

I'm almost 80% sure to get a new Almera then all of a sudden I saw this:

    https://www.autoindustriya.com/auto-...ance-pack.html

I dunno if this will be released here in PH as well.

From wiki, almera's curb wight is more than 1ton. So, 1.2 might have performance/fc penalties.

As a reference, g4 is less 1ton so.....

The Jazz CVT is around 1050-1090 kg and the Fiesta Ecoboost is a few kilograms over 1100. The Mazda2 is lighter than both. These 3 are the sportiest subcompacts on the market today.

    Exactly.
So for me anything that is more than a ton should be more 1.2. At least 1.3 but sweet spot is 1.5
Although by relying on engine displacement only is antiquated nowadays.

It’s not about the displacement nowadays, it’s more about power and torque. The Fiesta Ecoboost only has a 1.0L 3-cylinder engine but produces 125hp and 200Nm due to its turbo, much better output compared to 1.3L to 1.6L NA engines.

1.2 Almera is 3 cylinder engine, 78hp and 106nm or torque carrying 1020 kg.

Takbong chubby yan. You will be happy driving it in the city 60 kph and below. Less pain idling in traffic, just don't mash the pedal every stop n go or u'll feel the pain in ur wallet.

    Again, takbong chubby.

For better power to weight ratio, get the 1.5E with 99 PS 134Nm kerb 1038kg. Last time i checked the dealership they are giving P50k discount, so the price is now competing against Vios J, Santana, and Soluto EX.

Thanks for your inputs po. I only have till Friday to decide. First car ko po to, ako lang po ang magiging sakay most of the time, office bahay tagaytay calamba.

    Who set the deadline?
If still undecided, wait it out. Research more. Test drive more.

I wont recommend the 1.2 almera engine for your route, alone and especially with passengers.

It's an older design engine with a very 'dated' transmission. (we are talking about the almera with 4at right?)

I drove my uncle's 1.3L sentra before (the one with 'bug eyes' before they introduced the sylphy). If you are plying relatively flat roads, fine. No plans to go past 70kph or overtake, fine as well. It is a literal point a to b car.

But once you want to do anything other than the above, you will struggle to squeeze out any performance. And if you do get any out from the engine, you are revving it around 3000rpm, maybe more. And it will chug fuel.

My opinion. Good luck in your purchase.
